Stringy Celery Question

Hi Everyone,
I really like celery & cream cheese to snack on, however, the celery is so stringy it almost gags me, plus I have dentures so biting down on it isn't as clean cut as a good set of choppers. Anyone have any suggestions?
TIA
Sue

Why not switch to a different veggie like cukes. You can have them with cream cheese and they are alot easier to bite. Also if you really like celery choose the inmost stalks as they are more tender use the outer ones for cooking.

On those days when stringy celery really bothers me, I just take a vegetable peeler and peel away the strings on the back!

Yes, the professional cooks peel the back of celery all the time.
I just use a paring knife..it's quick and easy..

It also helps, if after you put the cream cheese in the celery, you cut it into bite size pieces. You don't notice the strings then.
