Thickners

What type of thin knees do you use for making smoothies thicker? I have used xarum gum (?spell) but it makes it like gummy.. Any suggestions would be appreciated

You can use xanthan gum (just a pinch so it won't be slippery), or other gums. Also, a little glucomannon seems to thicken without the gummy texture, if you don't use too much. For me, though, my favorite thickener is an ounce of cream cheese. Mmmmm.....

I know what you mean about that gummy feel - I can't stand it. But I think it's not so much which thickener you use, but how much and you really have to play around with it. I use 1 teaspoon xanthan gum with a scoop of protein powder, flavorings like cocoa and PB2, 1 1/2 cups almond milk, sweetener, and a container that holds about 20 oz of water filled with crushed ice. This makes 3 tall glasses of smoothie and never any gumminess.
