Bitter Broccoli Solution

I cut a piece of raw broccoli off before cooking it. bleh!! It was so bitter. So I did some internet research and it told me to boil it in a good amount of salted water until done. I usually microwave it, but that wouldn't take the bitter taste away.

It worked great. No bitterness at all and the water was green/brownish.

Wow, I don't think I've ever had bitter broccoli.

I think I might have waited too long to cook it.

I've had broccoli get bitter because I waited too long to cook it...tried to eat it anyway...didn't happen. I am glad to know there is a solution. Our produce doesn't last very long here.

lol...I have had plenty of them turn yellow too...Now I just buy them when I know I will use them within a couple of days.
I had to learn that the hard way and I really don't care for frozen broccoli at all.
