Media Crema

Hi! I got 3 cans of nestle media crema to make ginny's cheesecake ice cream with, but then realized it's got more carbs than a glass of whole milk, and the recipe ends up with 10 carbs per serving, way too much. ):

Anyone have some good summer recipes using media crema, preferably 5 or less carbs, and high fat?

also just good uses for it in everyday applications that won't become too carb-y.

if you search here on LCF, you will see a long thread about making table fudge with Media Crema. It was quite good!

I use it quite a bit. In BPC, it can work in place of heavy cream.... the WHOLE container has that many carbs. thats not a lot in moderation. Here south of the border we use it in place of sour cream on mexican dishes, and I use it to add richness too many dishes.a container of media crema goes FAR. I have used it in equal parts with heavy cream for suaces and chicken lasana as well. a tablespoon will blend with 20 oz of coffee and work beautifully! just use a blender for texture. or add spenda or stevia to use in place of whipped cream. It is incredible versatile, and here at least MUCH less costly than heavy cream. (10:1) cost differential, plus way more prevalent.

Thank you Erinmarie! I miscalculated. I plan on making the ice cream with 1/2 a can to get the carbs down to about 3g per serving ( heavy cream and cream cheese have carbs that added up too.)

I plan on buying more as I tasted it and it's delicious! I don't like some of the undertones of coconut milk, so this is very nice, and lasts longer than heavy cream.

1 T is only 1g of carbs, so 15 carbs per container. I'm going to have to try it in BPC now!

I found some fudge-y recipes on the nestle site that could be easily altered for LCHF. Can't wait to try it in a smoothie or pudding.

I just made 1 can into sweetened condensed milk with tagatose - more like dulche de leche already!! So good. I was surprised at how orange it was!
