Jello ideas

I have really been wanting to make my own jello. I bought some sugar free Davincis syrups, and I have the Great Lakes gelatin on hand. Can anyone tell me exactly how to go about making it?

Hi,

I like to make my own 'Creamy' Jello:

zap 1 cup water in a 4 cup measuring cup in the microwave
stir in 2 packets Knox Gelatine (= 4 1/2 teaspoons or ~1 heaping Tablespoon if you're using the bulk powder container - 0 carbs)
stir in 1 packet KoolAid (many great flavors, lemonade is my favorite - 0 carbs)
add 2 cups cold water (I keep a bottle in the fridge ;-)

<sweeten to taste>

stir in 1/3 cup DaVinci Vanilla Syrup (0 carbs)
stir in 1 cup sugar equivalence (sweetener of choice, I use Stevia - 0 carbs)
stir in 2/3 cup whipping cream (4 carbs)
cool ~2 hours, mix up again (cream tends to rise to the top ;-)

This makes 4 cups of creamy jello and, best of all, NO ASPARTAME. I have 1-2 cups for dinner desert & love it!

locarbman ;-)

Hi again,

I had about ½ of a 1.5 liter bottle of Christian Brothers Cream Sherry left over from our SuperBowl get together and decided to make Cream Sherry Jello… ;-)

Cream Sherry Jello:
Using a 2 cup measuring cup
Warm ½ cup (2floz) Cream Sherry for about 45 seconds in the microwave (5 carbs (2.5 carbs/ounce))
Stir in 1 packet Knox Gelatine (0 carbs)

<Sweeten to taste>

Stir in ½ cup sugar equivalence sweetener of choice (I used 1/8 teaspoon Liquid Sucralose - 0 carbs)
Stir in 1 ½ cups (6floz) cool Cream Sherry (15 carbs)
Chill for about 2 hours, remix, then continue to chill

I added 1/3 cup Whipping Cream (2 carbs) to the hot Cream Sherry and then filled to the 2 cup mark with cool Cream Sherry for a ‘Creamy’ Cream Sherry Jello…yummy…just thought some of you might be interested…lol!

I have done this in the past with Bergundy and found it delightful… ;-)

LOL, when I first started reading this thread, all I could think of was Jello Shots. Somehow, using cream sherry makes them seem too civilized.

I have made it with Great Lakes, pureed strawberries, chia seeds and Mio. I also made the same batch with stevia instead of Mio.

Next time I am going to just mush up the strawberries and add a few whole blueberries at the end.

It isn't very LC like plain sf jello would be, but it's a nice dessert.
