Country Style Pork Ribs

hey yall!!

I have a huge package of these babies and I want to make them. I don't have access to a grill right now, so it would have to be either crock pot or oven/broiler. I plan to put rub rather than sauce too.

Please advise, dinner awaits

I foil-line a baking pan, in the bottom goes a sliced onion and some garlic cloves. Rub the ribs down good with whatever seasoning you like. Put them atop the layer of onions and garlic, I prefer them not touch each other but sometimes - they do!

Add about 12 oz. or so of liquid. I prefer beer (and a homebrewed one at that!) but you can use wine, stock, or just water (last choice for me, as it adds nothing to the flavor) - now cover tightly with foil and roast at 350* for a couple hours. Uncover and roast another 30 minutes or so to brown them.

I prefer to then brush on some BBQ sauce and put them back in the oven about 10 minutes to set the sauce, but you don't have to do that. You could always add a can of tomatoes or tomato sauce or even ketchup to the tops of the meat before you braise it.

What works best for me is to use the Reynold's Oven Bags, like what you can cook a turkey in, but they come in different sizes. The ribs are so tender cooked in them.

I bake the seasoned ribs in those as per the directions of the box and then remove from the bag and put in a pan and spread some BBQ sauce on them. pour a bit of beer or ginger ale around them and then put back in the oven for a bit to cook on the sauce.

There may be a healthy benefit to marinating meet in beer before grilling (when you do get one). It may be that it reduces the risk of cancer. There is information about this if you do a search.

But I've got to try the oven version over onions and garlic. Sounds great.
