Einkorn flour?

Please does anyone know where I can buy einkorn flour in a store instead of having to buy it online? Thanks...Virginia

Virgy, I don't think it is available in stores. From what recall Dr. Davis said, it's grown in really limited quantities.

My local co-op carries it in one pound bags. But that doesn't help you, really. You could try one in your area.

Shoot, just saw a local store of mine that sold it. I think it was the health food store but I can't remember. I was surprised to see it. I wish I could remember where I saw it. Worth calling around to see.

Well Virgy, color me wrong! If health food stores are carrying it maybe check out Whole Foods? I know one of the cooks ( Buttoni) on the recipe help and suggestion board uses small amounts of it.

Good luck on the hunt!!

Jovial Foods on-line sells it. I think theirs is being grown in Italy, if I remember my reading there correctly. So I'm surprised their price is so reasonable. Much cheaper than almond and coconut flour. It is wheat, and it isn't low-carb. I only keep products low-carb by using the tiny amounts I'm using in my experiments.

I bought a bag at the health food store near my cabin, so it is available in stores. Like others, I don't use much at a time, so a small bag lasts a long time.

Safeway carries Jovial products. Health food stores carry Einkorn wheat. I got mine at a co-op. But that is all we have up here.

In Northern California Raley's grocery store has it. I just saw it this past weekend and bought a bag. Raley's is the parent company for Bel Air and Nob Hill stores also.
