Carbquik is much improved..

My LC doctor was selling some CQ, so I bought some for fun. No kidding..
No more twang..It does taste lots better than it used to. I made some pancakes and have some simple biscuits with only water added in the toaster oven..Will let you know about the biscuits..

The one biscuit wasn't bad at all.. They definitely listened to us and got rid of the twang.

I still think plain biscuits taste slightly twangy... they need vanilla/cinnamon and sweetener or garlic and cheese or something similar. But aside from plain biscuits, I think it is awesome!

Just remember it is 13 carbs per cup... the nutritional panel is quite tricky and is "per biscuit". When they were asked point blank, it was 13 carbs per cup. Which is fine because I often cut it with almond flour anyway.

Don't try emailing them anymore- it's a dud address.

Jen, the twang is so slight compared to the original recipe. I agree with you on spicing it up. I saw some of my old recipes I need to try . LOL

That's odd about the carb count going up to 13 per cup. That's what it was when it first came out then it dropped to 10 carbs per cup when they came out with a new formula.

I had a lot of trouble getting a straight answer from them in the old days about the carb count. The label was very inconsistent with itself in a couple of places, and it didn't make any sense at all. When wrote out the inconsistencies and questioned them, they kind of blew off my question.

That said, I'm glad to hear they've worked on the unpleasant taste--it was very strong to me. Would love to hear what some others think about the new formula if you try it--especially if you disliked the old kind.

I just made the cheddar biscuits that are on the box. I followed the recipe exactly and made 10 biscuits. Would the carb count now be about 3 grams per biscuit vs the advertised 2 gms on the box?

I saw posts that it was being improved but never saw any nutritional info from them about the new counts. I tried emailing them but it bounced. I'd love to see this post! I hope this is true!!

I remember this- and I wouldn't have used it if I hadn't finally found a serious straight from their mouths post about the carb count. I can't remember the grams now but it was generally decided to be a cup. I remember their 2 box sizes had different nutritional labels too. They tried to con you into thinking it was 2 carbs for 1/3 of a cup but then it also said 1 biscuit. The 1 biscuit turned out to be 1/6th of a cup worth of CQ and water. My box still says this and it's new. Does anybody's box say anything different?

This new CarbQuick is indeed improved. I made cheese biscuits (Red Lobster)
and they were delicious. it was my own recipe. I'm certainly not afraid to cook
with it anymore. I mixed some of the CQ with Jen's bake mix and had good results
with Peggy's white bread recipe.
