Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bar

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup butter, melted
1 tsp molasses
1 cup Stevia in the Raw (or sweetener equal to 1 cup sugar)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup whey protein powder
1/2 cup ground flax
1/2 cup almond flour
1/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup nsa chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

Grease a small glass pan.
Combine all ingredients. Should be like a stiff cookie dough. If needed, add a few more drops of whipping cream until dough forms a ball.
Press into pan and chill before cutting into bars.

Makes 6 large bars.

Is there a decent substitute for molasses? I don't think I have any.

The molasses is what gives it that brown sugar taste. Like cookie dough. You could try the recipe without it.

and by the way, if you haven't tried the stevia sweetened Lily's chocolate chips netrition carries, please get right on it. They are amazing and no gastric distress.

These came out delicious. I had molasses so that worked. No NSA chips but had unsweetened baking chocolate that I broke up.
Follow up question: I assume since they have cream, it is best to keep them refrigerated but have you had any issues, say, putting them in a backpack and eating them a few hours later?

I do keep mine in the fridge, however, I think they would be just fine in a back pack. Maybe not overnight or anything...
