Shiritaki Noodles!!!!!!!!

ok people, I am loving these! finally tried them today. instead of ordering off the "miracle noodles" website, i went to my local asian grocery store to save some cash. so these have no calories, zip, zero... and no carbs of any kind.... sounds good already! so i heated them up in on a hot pan for 8min, added lots of previously-grilled chicken breast slices, green onions, a few splashes of plain soy sauce, a few drops of lime juice, sprinkle of Splenda, 3 whole mushrooms sliced up, and one single cashew nut (finely crushed up) - totally guilt free phad thai heaven!!! it was so good. i am excited to add these to my low carb cooking collection. just wanted to spread the joy on this website. it really, really felt like cheating but in no was was a real cheat.

So did you heat them up in the liquid from the pouch or rinse them and put them in some water to heat? (I have a pack in my frig but haven't tried them yet (they've been there for a bit).

Well they have some on their website - but it'll probably depend on the store - they all can carry some different products.

Netrition carries them and if you order other things you can get a few things for flat $5 shipping - it also looked like they had a cheaper price than Walmart. (although you should compare yourself as prices change often anymore).

I just had some tonight for the first time. I love pasta and this is a great substitute for the regular stuff. I found it on sale and I'm going to place a big order and stock up!

You must rinse them A LOT. They really do have the texture of Pad Thai noodles - so they are great when making Asian dishes. I found them at Safeway and at HMart (local Asian grocery store) They are in the refrigerator section by the tofu.

We just made them with:
Chicken
Bean Sprout
Peppers
onions
mushrooms
slices almonds
soy
& homemade peanut sauce

So Yummy!

I prefer the Tofu shiritaki noodles -- the texture is so much better. And at 4 grams carb per package, I can certainly fit them into my diet. I've found the regular ones in our Walmart for $1.99 a bag.

I've used these for years now. Rinsing is KEY! Really rinse well.
Then throw them into a bowl and squeeze a large lemon over all
and toss. There will be no smell left and they are quite neutral.

After that you are on your own to make stir fries or cheese noodles or
just check the internet for recipes.

I love these noodles - here in FL I buy them at Publix in the vegetable section. I've found vodka spaghetti sauce has the least carbs and will enjoy this again with a side salad as soon as I'm out of induction phase!

Okay, I was at Walmart today and did not find them. Thats fine, I will just keep looking. Mean while, what I did find was quite nice. In the isle with the foreign foods, their was a product called Feng Shui. It is in a black 4 oz. bag. And a picture of green soybeans. It was under $2.00 a bag and four servings. 130 calories, 4g.fat, 9 carb, 7 fiber and 13 protein. I think that is great. Opened a bag as I was so hungry and I liked, so bought 3 more. I think this would be handy to keep in the car for a quick bite or a late nite snack. Or whatever.
