Jelly Donuts?

Anyone make Jelly donuts?

I would prefer to make the ones with the jelly in the middle circle on the outside. Those were the ones I loved as a kid. How can I do this?

Thanks.

Ok Miss I'm trying to understand this. Do you mean the jelly is on the outside of the donut ?

Yeah. Like the one in the top corner. Like the one in the top corner. The jelly is in the center where the hole would be

So do you want a raised donut recipe and jam recipe? A raised donut would have to have wheat in it so that you can use yeast . Or do you want a gluten free donut recipe? I have ideas on both.

Thanks for the visual it help so much.

I'll take both. I don't have to eat gluten free.
I have almond flour, lupin flour and LC foods white flour that contains wheat protein isolates.
I have coconut flour but I'd prefer not to use it. I've never been successful with coconut flour recipes.

I'd second ANY low carb jelly donut recipe...I don't mind where the jelly is. ;D Although I am especially interested in any gluten-free ideas.

Would you explain LC Foods white flour to me ? What's in it. Then I can give you a better recipe.

Here is one from Gina that is Almond flour donuts.
Almond Flour Doughnuts

Do you use Ouizoid's BTF mix? If you do there are a few in that thread.

The ingredients in LC white bread flour are
Ingredients: contains a proprietary/patent pending blend of wheat protein
isolates, resistant wheat starches, flax seed meal, vital wheat glutens, and
natural enzymes.

I use to take Kevins simple white bread recipe and I change it to a sweet bread that you can use to make doughnuts and cinamon rolls. I loved it. Would you like that one?

Absolutely! I've used this flour to make cinnamon rolls before too so it would probably work well here for donuts too!

Thanks for the idea. I could do this on those mornings I'm short on time. I was already planning to use SF jelly I have from LC Foods.

I use to love this.I changed his amount of sugar ( real ) to 1 Tablespoon. I added 12 drops of E-Z Sweet to make it a sweet bread. Thats it.

Simple Carbquik White Bread I was impressed with the taste of this bread.

* 3/4 cup warm water
* 1/4 cup heavy cream
* 2 large eggs
* 1 Tbsp. olive oil
* 1/2 Tsp. salt
* 1/4 cup wheat protein isolate 8000
* 1 3/8 cup Carbquik
* 1 cup wheat protein isolate 5000
* 1/8 cup Resistant Wheat Starch 70
* 1 Tsp. guar gum
* 2 Tsp. Xanthan gum
* 2 Tsp. baking powder
* 1 Tsp. sugar ( I changed this to 1 Tablespoon )
* 1 packet rapid rise yeast

Combine all the dry ingredient in a glass mixing bowl.
Then put the wet ingredients in an electric mixing bowl.
With the paddle, mix the wet for about 1 minute on low then add the dry mixing till well combined.
Change the paddle for the dough hook and kneaded with the hook for 4 to 5 min.
Then turned the dough into a glass bread dish, cover and let rise for 1 to 2 hours in a warm draft free place till dough doubles. The dough will be quite sticky.

When dough doubles in size bake it in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes until golden brown.

This is a lighter and more tender bread than the Carbalose version.

Here is a recipe I use all the time. It's old and I'm sorry I don't know who made this recipe.

Dry ingredients:

3 TBLS almond flour
1 TBLS sweetener of choice
1/4 TS cinnamon
1/4 TS baking powder

Wet Ingredients:

1 large egg white, beaten
2 TBLS water

1. Beat egg white until frothy with the sweetener and water.
2. Add dry ingredients and combine well.
3. Fry batter in oil of choice until crispy and golden brown.

This recipe makes donut holes but can be made in larger quanity to make baked donuts.

Hope this recipe helps some and maybe you can use SF jam for the filling?
