Preheat oven to 425.

Put 1/4 cup butter in bowl and melt completely in microwave. Add 2 t sesame oil.

Mix 1/2 or so of Carbquik, 2 T or so of Sweet Ginger Garlic Asian spice blend, 1 T onion powder and 1 T garlic powder in a bowl. Mix well.

Coat XL chicken wings in melted butter mixture then roll in spice mixture. Place on nonstick foil topped cookie sheet. Makes about 12. Bake 30 minutes, flip, then 15 minutes more.

While baking, mix 2 T or so of the Thai chili garlic sauce and 1/2 cup Elgin BBQ sauce together in a bowl. Spoon onto cooked chicken wings and bake 5 minutes more.

I didn't take any pictures but these turned out excellent as well.

Crispy Savory Chicken Wings

In food porcessor, place several handfuls of plain pork rinds. Grind to a powder. Add 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1/2 c Carbquik, 1 T garlic powder, 1 T onion powder and about 2 T "Herbs de Provence" spice blend.

Coat 12 XL chicken wings in melted butter. Roll in spice mixture and coat heavily. Place on nonstick foil topped cookie sheet. Bake at 425 for 30 minutes, flip, then 15 minutes more. They have a fabulous crispy coating.

These sound great, but I am on induction for awhile. Will wings crisp up in the oven without breading? I want to use your sauce though.

Thanks,
Mindy

Yes they will- use high heat and the skin will crisp up. Even better is frying them.

These look great. Can't wait to try these.

Thank you. Actually, thank you for all you have posted lately. You have become something of a star in our house. Well you and Ouizoid. Between the two of you life has become much nicer low-carb option wise. What would I do without this board and everyone else's ideas? Hahahaha.

Thanks again,
Mindy

Wow. I actually have tears in my eyes. This is what I live for- helping fellow low carbers see that a world of fabulous foods awaits as long as you don't mind tinkering in the kitchen and doing lots of dishes. ;)

Now... to convince my mother-in-law... :hyst:

:hugs: Jenn. I second this, but I would have to add the rest of our happy menagerie here, because each amazing and creative chef/cook brings soooo much to the party (in addition to neato gadgets)! :D :birthday:

They sure will, especially if you boil them first and then let them air dry in the fridge for a couple of hours.

What's the carb count on the bbq sauce I checked online but don't see it.

JHoberer 04-03-2014 12:02 AM

3 carbs for 2 T. Guy's would work fine. :)

Thanks. I will look for it in the store. This recipe sounds really good.
