Favorite Breading?

Hi All,

Frying up some breaded Turkey Cutlets tonight for dinner tonight but I'm not sure what breading I should use. I am able to eat a higher number of carbs so I probably could use standard bread crumbs but why not try something new and save the carbs.

I've got Almond flour, lupin flour, coconut flour, unflavored protein powder and Parmesan cheese available. I also figure I'll add some Italian seasoning, garlic powder and maybe onion powder.

Anybody have a favorite breading recipe with the above ingredients?

Thanks,
Dawn

My favorite continues to be half crushed pork rinds and half green-can Parm cheese. You didn't mention pork rinds but give it a try sometime!

I love the hot & spicy ones for this purpose. They make a great coating and you would never know that it's pork rinds.

I've done half almond flour and half Parm too but it doesn't get as crispy as the pork rinds/Parm.

My best mix is 1/4 almond flour, 1/4 grated parm, and 1/2 ground plain pork rinds mixed with Italian seasonings. It was indistinguishable from bread crumbs according to my very surprised high carb friends.

I always use pork rinds and parm cheese, for a little spicy flavor I will add an envelope of Hidden Valley Spicy Ranch.

I am a recent convert to pork rinds used as breading. I love the rind/parm combo but found it to be a smidge greasy. I think that adding in a little almond flour is the perfect solution!

Yup Pork Rinds and Parmesan with seasonings is my usual breading. Unfortunately we're out of pork rinds and it's snowing out so I'm unable to restock.

Figured I'd try something new until I can get to the market.
