newbie with questions

Hi, I'm Paco and am a diabetic type 2. Started buying Cabalose flour and am wondering what ingrediants to add to make like Carbquick. Can anyone help?
Also are there any varients to using the caralose flour when using a regular flour recipe?
Thanks ya'll

Hi Paco! Welcome aboard!

Carbalose is to Carbquik as flour is to Bisquick - the CQ has added leavening and shortening ingredients to make it a "complete" baking mix. Carbalose would be closer to straight flour, but you really can't do a straight-across trade-off.

Best thing to do is find recipes for both products (I recommend the "tried 'n true" ones on this board) and follow a couple of those til you get the hang of it.

There are a couple of Sticky threads, let me go find them and I'll come give you the links so you can start exploring.

Eating Atkins-style will most certainly help you with controlling your diabetes. My DH doesn't have it YET but it runs on both sides of his family. I'm a firm believer that having been eating low-carb these past 10 years or so has KEPT him from developing type II.

Hi! I just signed up about 10 minutes ago. I've started Atkins but haven't seen results yet. I'm hoping to get lots of encouragement.

Induction is the first phase of Atkins.

What eating plan are you following, Paco?
