Whole Cauliflower question

Anybody ever crockpot and entire uncut cauliflower? I found a recipe for a curry and yogurt marinated whole cauliflower but it was baked... and my oven is out of commission. It's beautiful in the pictures!

Jen - I think it will work just fine. If you try it, let us know and post the recipe.

I've seen recipes for whole cauliflower baked in an oven. Can't imagine why it wouldn't work in a crock-pot. Your recipe sounds interesting. Please let us know how it turns out, and post the recipe if it is good. Thanks!

I put the curry-yogurt mixture on too thick (the recipe made twice as much as needed) but it was delicious anyway!

The recipe I used was the top recipe in a google search of "spicy whole roasted cauliflower"

Thanks for trying that, Jen. I still have a cauliflower waiting for me to do something with it and I like the slow cooker idea. How long did you cook it? On low?

I cooked it 7 or 8 hours on low, on top of crumpled aluminum foil with enough water to cover the bottom of the crockpot but not go above the foil.

We tried this in oven and it dried out. Maybe we let it sit too long - don't know.

Was yours juicy?

Definitely juicy. Hmm. I would have thought oven baked would've been better.

I finally tried this tonight and I think it is very good! I used the same ingredients listed in the recipe but in different amounts to my taste. I ended up baking mine in the oven, 400 degrees for about an hour. After the first half hour I put some water in the bottom of the pan and covered the cauliflower loosely with foil to get a little steam action going and keep it moist. I did keep it covered after taking out of the oven and let it sit about 5 to 10 minutes. Cut into wedges and served with a pat of butter on the cut edge and sprinkled with chopped fresh parsley.
