Ideas for Using Kelp, Seaweeds, etc...

I need the minerals desperately. (funky EKGs with electrolyte issues)... I am upping the green veggies but I know sea veggies would REALLY help.

Any suggestions on practical uses (besides soups - I've got that down but it's rarely cold enough here to enjoy hot soup).

I WISH I could find the seaweed they use to make seaweed salads at the Japanese restaurants! LOL! I LOVE those salads.

I have made a few veggie rolls in nori which I love.. and think adding sea veggie flakes to salads is a good idea but I wondered if anyone else had ideas.

TIA!

Cary~

Is Nori in there? If it is I use nori to make my idea of sushi. I use:

steamed caulirice --make a layer on the nori
I use raw fish because I like it, you don't have to.
layer in veggies avocado, cucumber, hot chillis or chilli oil ( use whatever you want).
soy sauce ( i use coconut aminos).
roll everything up tightly and cut into rounds.Serve , enjoy.

There are no amounts I just make them.

Yes.. YUM!

I love sushi made like this.. you can also grate jicama (if you can find it at your store) and use it in place of rice as well.

I recently made my own spicy tuna this way.

I think I am going to add it to a big pot of mixed greens tonight and see how it turns out.. I think it will just make them taste salty and I am constantly craving salt anyway.

Thank you!

I use jicama also. I use other foods too.Sorry for the thread jack.

I love jicama , I just made some alpine s/f apple cider and julienned a small jicama to put in it. I put in fridge and I feel like I'm having apples.

I love that Japanese seaweed salad, too! I think it's pretty easy to make. I found a lot of recipes just by searching on "seaweed salad". The type of seaweed to use is wakame, which is pretty widely available.

I like kombu for any kind of soup or broth.

I can't wait to be finished with induction so I can try the LC "sushi" - I only heard of this method recently
