cereal

I have really started craving a bowl of cereal in the mornings, came up with this.
mix in bowl 1/4 C each
hemp hearts (taste like sunflower seeds to me)
sliced almonds
dried coconut
whole cranberries
add 1 C coconut milk + 1 T cream

very filling very yummy also very high cal
my calculations come to 600 Cal. 22 carbs 12 fiber

This may be too high carb for some, but I think 1/2 serving would fit into most diets. I am diabetic. this raises my blood sugar less than 10 points. Which is the same as a plain burger, or just coffee and cream. Stays with me better than bacon and eggs.

Flax Seed and Bran Cereal

1 egg beaten
3/4 c water ( 3/4 to 1 )
1/4 c protein powder
1/4 c flax meal
1/4 c natural bran (I use wheat sometimes and Oat sometimes
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 pkg sweetener

Prepare

Put egg, water and vanilla in a small saucepan
whisk in the protein powder, add flax, bran and sweetener
Stir over med heat until bubbly
Pour into a bowl add a dollop of butter, sweeten to taste.

if needed heavy cream

Not slimy and very filling

when you say you use bran, wheat or oats, what exactly are the products your using? Thanks....I miss cereal and it has only been 4 days. I like eggs but many morning they don't agree with me...
