Have you frozen spaghetti squash?

I have a big spaghetti squash, and I'm going to need to freeze at least half of it after I cook it.

Any tips on how to freeze it? How was the texture when you heated it up again?

I have done this. I can't remember what the texture was like when it defrosted, so I assume it was fine.

Yes I have frozen it. I also don't remember the texture when defrosted.

I do remember I freeze it in zip lock freezer bags laid flat. Takes little room that way.

Ugh, well I don't have much of a choice. I'll try the zip lock baggies - thanks!

You could always make Spaghetti Squash Pie, KevinPA's recipe in the memorial to him section. So good and as I recall it takes 4 cups.

We love spaghetti squash as a side or the Spaghetti Squash Pie, so we just finish it off in 2-3 days when I've made a large one.

I already froze it - but next time I'm going to try the pie. That looks really good.

I've frozen it before, and it was watery mush after reheating. Don't bother.

I like to buy them smaller. Here another recipe.

Chicken and alfredo sauce and mixed with speghetti squash with cheese on top and bake for 30 mins. I just showed somebody how to make this. They loved it.

I have frozen it in baggies, defrosted, sataied in butter. Worked ok, not as good as fresh but not bad, DH couldnt tell the differance. Not sure I would make a recipe then freeze, it does get watery.
