TURKEY BREAST PREPARED IN A PRESSURE COOKER.....

have any of you pressure cooker users ever tried it? I have an 8 qt electronic one.

No, because you have to put some liquid in the bottom, and I like all the drippings for gravy. Plus I like the skin crispy!

Depends on what you want to use it for. I have cooked turkey breast in the pressure cooker for soups, chopped turkey for sandwiches and casseroles, etc. It probably isn't good for a sliced turkey breast dinner if you want the traditional roasted turkey type meal. It makes really good chopped turkey for freezing in portions for later casserole type meals.

Thanks for the replies! Since I'll be roasting a 21 lb. turkey, I thought I would pressure cook the breast. Most of my family like white meat better than dark. I've pressure cooked whole chicken that turned out really moist and fell off the bone. Still toying with the turkey idea, though.

Pam, do you have a roaster oven? I bought a 22 quart one and my 19 pound turkey is going in there. I cooked a smaller turkey last year in my old roaster oven and it came out so dang good.

Char, I do not. I use the Reynold's brand turkey size oven bags. Always had good luck with them. The turkey comes out nice and brown; juicy, too.
