cauliflower mushrooms

I was given a cauliflower mushroom this morning. Have never seen one before but they kinda look like a brain. Has anyone here ever cooked one. Thought I would just slice it and saute it like most other mushrooms - any suggestions.

I sliced it and then sauted it in butter and olive oil = was rubbery didnt care for it at all.
