Swiss Chard ?
Bought some yesterday and before I cook it , I would LOVE to know all of your favorite ways to make it !!

I wash it well, shake off the excess water, chop up the tougher stems and nuke them in a covered microwave-safe dish (no need to add any more water) with some chopped onion, til they're both about tender - then cut the leaves crosswise, and again in half (so there are no long stringy pieces!) and throw those in the dish, cover, and nuke another minute or so, just til they're wilted down.

Drain off any accumulated liquid, add either butter or olive oil and garlic salt to taste, stir up well, add just a splash of balsamic vinegar and eat.

You can also add a few red pepper flakes if you want to spice it up a bit!

We prefer the red chard, it's just prettier - or the newer Bright Lights chard, it has white/yellow/red/pink stems!

mine said swiss chard, but has red stems ? I have heard it is very good , so wanted to try it :)

I wash it well rough chop it, put some bacon fat into a pot, add a chopped pepper and onion and some garlic, and when they've sweated down, add the chard over medium low heat. When the chard has cooked down, add salt and other seasonings to taste.

I also like to mix them with other greens and cook them the same way. I made some with collards and kale Sunday and have been eating them all week.

That's the better kind anyway IMHO! Yep, still Swiss chard, just the red-stemmed variety. It's just prettier, so somehow tastes better, than the standard green-leafed/white-stemmed standard! :D

I like to saute it in lots of hot salted butter and add lemon juice to taste. Good for any greens for cooking.
