sweet buttered almonds

May not be posting this in the right place but I read somewhere about someone making their own sweet buttered almonds. Is there a recipe someone where.

I use pecans rather than almonds, but I'm sure they'd be yummy, too. I just toss a tablespoon or two of kerrygold butter in a small pan, toss in a handful of pecans and fry over a fairly low heat for maybe four or five min (like to give the nuts time to soak up some of that butter!) and then I sprinkle a packet of truvia and some salt over them. If you use a liquid sweetener, I'd add that to the butter before the nuts so it gets evenly distributed.

Thanks so much - I do like pecans as well - um maybe a mixture of the two for a snack this weekend when I take the kids to the circus.

The local mall always has a vendor around the holidays that does cinnamon sugar almonds, pecans and walnuts and the entire mall smells like Christmas :)

So throwing in a bit of cinnamon with the sweetner and butter adds another layer of flavor too.

Yesterday tried recipe with walnuts and added cinnamon and a few drops of vanilla extract!

I really think powder Splenda works better than liquid sweetener. and the salt is uber important, really takes the flavor to the next level.

Another thing to do is to chop up your nuts, fry in butter and sweetener, add salt, and then put them over a salad. Delish. And a controlled helping of nuts.

Yum!!

And Blue Skies, what a great idea to add a little crunch to a salad!
