I have to keep my carbs between 20 and 30 a day. And, every time I've had spaghetti squash my bs has spiked. So, I haven't eaten it in about a year now.
Tomato sauce is another one I've found I have to avoid.

Chicken Paprikash, made with lots of sliced mushrooms as well as onions. Everyone is crazy about it.

The mushroom, chicken, & sausage casserole on Linda Sue's site is awesome. I have taken it to "normal people" potlucks (that is, people who are more interested in how the food tastes and less in how trendy it is or how it looks) and come home with only my empty dish. Typically I add a few teaspons of fresh garlic to this, a teaspoon of sage, and a little pepper depending on how spicy the sausage I end up with is. . . .

If your people are "foodie people," hmm, that's tougher. I admit, in that setting, usually I've just given in and made one of the old recipes. Props for holding your ground!

Meatballs seem really popular right now and are a great "fall" kind of thing. I don't a have a great recipe to offer of my own or that I've tried but have pinned a lot to try on Pinterest. A lot of work to make for a group, though!

What kind of dish did you take prior to low carbing? That might help us come up with some things that are a little more what you're thinking of. . .
