I'm not TBipp, but in my recipes for biscuits, any baking powder or soda is in addition to what is in the mix. You especially need the baking soda if you're using buttermilk, to react with the acid.

Is there a substitute for the glucomannan? I have xantham gum. What brand would you recommend? I just haven't gotten around to order any yet, am getting ready to order soon (long list!) and there are three on netrition, with variable price ranges...

And is it egg white powder, not egg white protein powder?

Can't wait to have me a McMuffin!!!

Deb, I had this same question about the egg white powder/egg white protein powder. I use the egg white protein powder (unflavored). In reading the ingredients they say the same thing. And the protein powder is much cheaper.
