Coffee Ice Cream

Craving something sweet and cold. Looked at Linda Sue's easy ice creams. She said in her review that it was good, but lacked the texture of ice cream.
So, if figured what the heck and gave it a shot.
Here's the difference:
I used Mexican crema. Our cream is much thicker and heavier. Doesn't pour, you have to spoon it. Used instant coffee crystals and added a touch of cocoa powder. Stuck in in the freezer and waited.
I don't know if it is the crema, but it had the perfect ice cream texture.
It would have been so good with some chopped walnuts!!

Maxine,

By Mexican cream, do you mean Media Crema? It is sold here in cans in the Latin food section of grocery stores.

No, we have the canned media crema here too. This is fresh cream in the dairy case. Comes in jars (brand names) or plastic containers (unlabeled local producers).
