Recipe for Bolognese Sauce?
Are carrots an integral part of this sauce?
I currently use a Bolognese Sauce from a Farmers Market that does not list the carb count but they do list the ingredients. Except for the carrots, the ingredients seem OK. However since I don't know the carb count, I always use it sparingly. Would love to create this at home myself. It does have an orangy color so I am not sure if the color is due to the carrots or from the cream mixed with tomato sauce. It is good stuff though.
The ingredients on the container are
Black Angus Ground Beef
They're supposed to list the ingredients in order from the most to the least. If they truly did that, then there can't be too many carrots in the sauce. They have paprika higher than carrots.
I've never used carrots in my gravy....I am pretty sure you can leave them out, does the sauce taste kind of sweet? It's kind of orange looking because of the cream added to the tomato sauce.
