Alcohol Nutritional Information

I don't drink alcohol much anymore, but I certainly do cook with it. This alcohol nutritional info was posted on another forum I frequent and I thought some here might find it useful:

that's a good chart! thanks

it's a common misconception that the alcohol evaporates when you cook with it so you don't need to count the alcohol calories, but when they actually measured that it only happens if you really boil it for a good long time... in most recipes almost none of the alcohol disappears that way.

the only thing on the chart that gives me pause is listing one carb count for either red or white wine. sweeter wines have a LOT more carbs than super dry ones. Champagne for example ranges far across the sweetness spectrum. So many are less than that and many are more. Better to look up the particular one you are drinking if possible!

I agree, RR. I'm not at all sure the info is as detailed and accurate as it could/should be. I've just never stumbled on such a complete alcohol chart in my web surfing. I put a copy on my fridge so I'd at least have a starting point. I put so little in a recipe (almost always <1/4c.) that the per serving count can't be very much, so I don't worry about it too much. But back in my drinking days, I could see how it could be a real issue for low-carbers to not know.

Have you loooked at this chart?
Evidently this site is the image that put out your chart.

It doesn't show Pinnacle vodkas, tho.
But I do have a chart for those, as well:

They are incorrect on the rum carb counts, at least... Malibu Rum has 5.3g carbs/1 oz. serving

Flavored rums will always have carbs in them (oh how I loved Bacardi Limon!). Straight up rum will be 0 carbs.

From BellaOnline, per 1 oz. serving:

Captain Morgan (a spiced rum) comes in four flavors:
Original - 0.3g
Silver - 1.7g
Parrot Bay - 6.0g
Private Stock - 2.2g

Malibu Rum - 5.1g

Bacardis:
Bacardi Light 0g
Bacardi Gold 0g
Bacardi Limon 2g
Bacardi Vanilla 2g
Bacardi O 3g
Bacardi Razz 3g
Bacardi Coco 2g

Malt Bacardis:
Bacardi Silver - 34g
Bacardi O3 - 33g

That's funny- the smaller chart that Peggy posted is from the same site
that has the big chart that I posted. On the big chart, it says 7.5g carbs
per 1.5 ounce serving.

Another case of the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing?
