LC, WF Pasta recipe?

OK,

So I am determined to find a WF, LC pasta that tastes more like HC pasta. I know it exists. I may end up tweaking a recipe or two on my own if I can't find one in the blogosphere. We'll see ;)

I found one that looks to be promising. Google this: The Perfect Easy Grain Free Pasta. It is on FoodieFiasco.

Anyone here ever tried it?

I checked this out..and looked up the carbs in the chickpea flour..The recipe calls for 3/4 cup of the flour and it has 15 net carbs per 1/4 cup, so the recipe would have 45 carbs for 2 servings.

Many of us have tried to make a LC pasta without tons of success..In my years of experience, the best and lowest carb sub is House Tofu Shiritake noodles. They are not
chewy like the regular ones. They come in different shapes..Very low carb/calorie and gluten free. There isn't much tofu in them at all if you are worried about soy.

The best fake rice is Miracle Rice..

I took a look at this and Carolyn is right. We have been trying to do this for 20 years. I always hope it works , then let us know.

I can't touch anything with soy in it.

There's one with pea protein and I'm expermenting now to see if I can come up with something that will be palatable.I really can't take pea protein alone.

I love zoodles but it is not the same.

The newbies coming in right now have more food options than we did.
Good luck Tracy. We want to know if you find something good.

netrition sells black bean pasta made by Explore Asia. I like it. the net carbs appear to be pretty low.

I actually just got some of this in my Netrition order. Sounded good to me. I'm glad you like it. :)

Hi Carolyn,

I know. This seems to be the LC Holy Grail.

I have a package of each of those products. I'll try them. I'm still determined to see if I can figure out something that cooks and bakes in casseroles like regular hc pasta. I have casseroles I used to make before that I feel stuck not being able to make because of a lack of a pasta sub.

Thanks as always for your feedback. :)

I know what you mean all-around, Esther. I try to keep my soy consumption down too. Zoodles are something I aim to try, but I know they won't be like regular pasta.

I posted about a pea protein noodle recipe I found. It intrigues me enough to see if I can tweak it. Maybe, maybe not. I'm just persistent and feel that there is a way that we just haven't discovered yet. Time will tell. ;) If you try the recipe, let me know how it goes. :) I'll definitely share if I find something.

I hope you find a great sub for noodles, Tracy..That would be wonderful!!! I have tried so many things because I love pasta so much..

For my lasagne, the best noodles around is a good quality deli sliced chicken breast..:) No one can tell it is not noodles.

The thing about wheat flour noodles is that it thickens things up and they have a great tender texture..

Keep experimenting...

Hey, try this, Smiles..Pretty good, if I say so myself..

Thanks, Carolyn :) I may do some of my own experimenting. I do persist ;) LOL!

I have heard about using thin sliced chicken breast from the deli. If you say it's that good a sub, I will give it a shot. I've also heard of using spinach. I know LindaSue has a recipe on her website for that.

Tracy: I don't like the sliced chicken breasts for pasta myself..Only for lasagne, but you could give it a whirl and see what you think..

I figured you meant the chicken breast more as a lasagna noodle sub rather than a general pasta sub. Thanks for clarifying though :)
