Never miss chilli w/beans again!

Oh my gosh!I was playing around in the kitchen and made chilli by mistake and this taste so much like the real thing its crazy

one lb ground beef*80-20* is best
one medium onion diced small
one teaspoon garlic powder
half teaspoon black pepper
half teaspoon italian seasoning
one tablespoon splenda(if u like a sweeter chilli (yum)
half tablespoon of salt(or however much you like)
one small can tomato PASTE
6 dietz n watson beef franks sliced into 1 inch slices

in a frying pan throw in the ground beef ,onions and hot dogs and cook until browned make sure the ground beef is still chunky (you dont want lil shavings of ground beef you want chunks)

in a microwave safe bowl add the paste ,seasonings and splenda and 8 oz of HOT water .stir and microwave for 4 minutes and make sure blended well

add this mixture back to the ground beef hot dog mixture and stir

let cool for 20 minutes this is better than the real thing the hot dogs act as beans and in my opinion is better.

Try it and tell me what you think

Last night i made this and served it over top of mac and cheese i made with dreamfields pasta omg it was heavenly

I use the Eden canned black soybeans. I don't generally advocate using soy
"anything", but it works for me. I don't use them often, and I'm not hypothyroid.

the inclusion of a whole can of tomato paste, onion, and garlic powder is going to make this too carby for most on low carb diets, but I'm sure it's delicious!

Im sorry i didnt see this thread i thought it dissapeared lol.Im not sure exactly how many servings it makes i could eat the whole pot omg its so

If a whole can of tomato paste is too much you can add 2 tablespoons and my garlic powder does not have any carbs.

You have to put the onion it takes it over the edge i tried with no onion and it just wasn't right.I think i have a pic i will post it

Just wanted to mention just because your garlic powder says 0 carbs it's not. It's actually a carby seasoning. You might want to put your recipe in a recipe site that breaks down nutrition for ya just so you can see what you are actually eating. Garlic powder is my favorite and I have to be so careful with it lol.

Just a tip from a vet.

Im curious about the tomatoes. If you use a tin of tomatoes (400gm) then, spread across the meal, the carbs are few (17gm with 4gm fibre). With four serves, it works out to just over 3gms effective carbs per serve.

Instead of garlic powder/salt, just use fresh garlic. It is very low in carbs.

There is no way i am obsessing about carbs in a half teaspoon of garlic powder. That's so trivial.I think that's why i have been successful in losing weight so fast in low carb because i dont sweat the small stuff.Low carb is supposed to be fun worry and stress free. The way i used to eat whole pizzas ,whole cakes and pies is nothing compared to the carbs in half teaspoon of garlic powder trust me.

To each their own. I just don't want someone else reading this thinking it's
0 just because you said yours said so.

Some people have to be very diligent in counting. It adds up. We are not all the same.

One tbsp is 6 carbs, one tsp is 2. That's a lot to me, when I try to eat 20g total a day.

Losing weight fast isn't the ultimate point. Keeping it off for years and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is.

From my estimates, this recipe has about 50 carbs in it.

onion: about 10 carbs
tomato paste: around 24 carbs
hot dogs: around 12 carbs
seasoning: 2-3 carbs
Slpenda: around 1 carb

If you break it up into 4 servings, it isn't too bad. I just know that I wouldn't be able to limit myself to just one serving. However, some people can.
