Walmart continues to amaze me. I've found a lot of stuff there that was previously unknown to me (ingredients for low-carb cooking).

The other day I was looking for a particular pizza sauce recipe (I wanted one that was extra tomato-y) and found several comments saying to start with San Marzano tomatoes. Online stores wanted an arm and a leg for them, but guess what??? My Walmart has them for just over $3 a can lol. Kinda shocked...but a happy shock!

Good to know about the PB2!!!

Awesome

So weird they carry PB2 but don't have coconut flour (which I'd consider a much more main-stream ingredient, but guess not).

There my be hope though, cause our Walmart has a nice Gluten free section, which seems to be increasing monthly , but, yup, no coconut flour (yet) though..

But they have vital wheat gluten stocked in the regular flour section lol. I guess lots of people must use it (I'm still not sure what it is).

Oh yeah, , I've seen that too, but I would not know what to do with it, and there is something about the word "Gluten" that Don't ask me why

Is it by the peanut butter or in the baking section? I doubt I'd have ever noticed it if not for this forum!

I just did a search for my particular store and it's not listed. Then I searched the general site and it's not listed there either. Maybe it's too new to have made the product list. They have one that can be ordered, but it's not Belle Plantation.

We have four Walmarts here and only one has the lavash bread. Unfortunately it's the farthest one from me. I make a special trip there occasionally, stock up and freeze it. I'll have to check for the PB2.

You guys are are funny.Really funny.

Vital wheat gluten is what you use in low carb & high carb bread to make it have more gluten. It gives it better rise, increases protein and used with other flours.

Our beloved Kevin pa used this a lot. Check out his recipes.'

If you are allergic or celiac or no wheat products , then you can not use this product.

I'm going to look for the pb2 I'm almost out. I use it alot in Gina's pb cookies and in pb cups.

Look for Lavash and flat out bread down the isle with bread and tortillias. That's the last pplace I found them.

I am very excited by that news!!! I love PB2!!! I have heard that there is coconut butter and lo and behold, I found it in my nut butter section. Have not seen the PB2, but have 2 jars in the pantry so don't need it quite yet. I will keep my eye open though. I am excited to see so many low carb items are getting into local stores. Very exciting!!!

On the flip side...my Bi Lo is clearancing out the coconut almond milk in the fridge section. I love that milk for my shakes, so not happy about losing that source. Hoping other stores in my area will continue to stock it.

I just got back from my Walmart and they have it!!! The bad news is they were out, but at least I found the empty space on the shelf where it was supposed to be (and stood there and stared at it like it would magically appear lol).

Rosethorns: Thanks for telling us about the vital wheat gluten. I guess I just haven't baked enough in my lifetime, but I've never seen that in a recipe. I think I do recall seeing it in a few recipes here, though.

I found some carb smart tortillas at Walmart, too, but I can't have them yet so I'll wait and get them later. Those are supposedly good, right?

I'm not the only one that was thrilled to see PB2 in Walmart when I was there a few weeks ago I love that stuff. I've used it reconstituted as well as in the powdered form in shakes. It's so awesome how it cuts the calories way down. I'd use it for all my pb baking needs, but it's way too expensive for that, as I use a lot of pb.
