Cheesecake Question

Hi all,
This might sound stupid, but do you have to halve or alter cheesecake recipes if you are using a 9.5 or 10 in. pie plate instead of a springform pan? I ask b/c I don't own a springform, and don't want to purchase one until I get rid of some other things for more space.
But I really want to make some cheesecake!!!

Do you have a cupcake pan and liners? I do cheesecake this way all the time.

Hi, :)

You could also split the recipe up into 2 pie pans as well. I do that all the time.

Here's the recipe I use for a small amount of cheesecake. It makes 12 regular sized cheese cake muffins and I bet it would fit just right in a pie pan.

I usually find cheesecake recipes are not even enough for my pie plate. not sure the size of it. I would make the whole recipe and then just bake the extra in any sort of oven-OK dish if it doesn't all fit.

Thanks everybody! :hiya:
Off to try the mini ones, (yay portion control) and I will probably do one in the pie plate next too. Appreciate the help!
I made full carb tiramisu for my little brother's birthday (his request) but I'm thinking some LC tiramisu cheesecake would be soooo tasty...

LC tiramisu cheesecake? That sounds yummy. I'd love to see the recipe for that one. :)

I was thinking of something with a tiramisu flavor. There is a blog called browneyedbaker and she has a recipe for mini tiramisu cheesecakes that I was going to see if I could make LC. If I get it right I'll post my version!

Alex,

OMG! I am checking out that blog you mentioned as we speak. She has the most amazing recipes. I definitely plan to LC, GF a few. A few examples: the chocolate pb torte, the red velvet cheesecake. They all look so yummy.

Thanks for mentioning the site. When I LC, GF them, I'll post it in the forum. :)

When I made cheesecake I always made it in a pie plate. The mini cheesecakes are better for portion control. But yes you can halve it. Especially beachgirls cheesecake.
