low carb breakfast bars or cereals?
I need a low carb breakfast idea that is fast or grab and go. Any breakfast bars or cereals low carb?

A bit of work to make but makes a large bag and lasts quite awhile in the fridge.

Coconut Cranberry Walnut breakfast cereal (the kind with milk)- bumped it for you

It's awesome!! I'm making strawberry next.

Hi Lo cereal and Sensato Nut & Flax Granola are both low carb, both very good and I get them both from Netrition.

My go to grab and go breakfast is a peanut butter supreme Quest Bar, also from Netrition. Quest has lots of protein bar flavors - this just happens to be my favorite. I chop one bar into about 20 pieces, put them in a snack bag, and throw them in the freezer. For some reason I love them frozen. They're pretty chewy, so it takes me at least 15-20 minutes to eat them, which I also like. They're filling and delicious.

Atkins makes a bunch, there are others, check lowcarbfriends for a selection.

If you are open to shakes I drink an Atkins Advantage shake every day for breakfast.

Protein shakes are great. Here are some good recipes for protein bars.

I love oatmeal but I don't like all the carbs in them so eat it infrequently. I decided to try and make overnight oatmeal yesterday with Oats (large flake) and Oat Fiber. It turned out really good! I wasn't sure how the oat fiber would taste uncooked, but I didn't taste it at all.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and make it without any oats at all just oat fiber.

I just kind of throw whatever I have at hand into my overnight oats. Last nights consisted of:
30g Oats
2 tbsp Oat Fiber
Greek Yogurt
Vanilla Protein Powder
Hemp Seeds
Chia Meal (I grind chia seeds in magic bullet) - used 10 grams to make sure it would thicken the oats as I used a lot of almond milk.
Unsweetened Almond Coconut Milk
1/4 tsp Pure Vanilla
Dash of Pure Stevia
Couple of drops of EZ Sweets
Wild Blueberries (Frozen)

I mixed it all together in a ziplock storage container and let it sit in the fridge overnight. In the morning it was nice and thick. :)

Another idea is egg muffins (with any cheese and veggies you want to add). You can make them ahead and refridgerate or even freeze them. You can reheat in the microwave in a minute or less then take them with you.

What is considered low carb as far as grams? My grocery store is small, I have no car to go to a big chain store. Can not find any low carb. I was looking at granola cereal, even the one with flax seed had 22grams of carbs? is that on the low end?

I lost 5 pounds on my first week even tho i cheated a little.

Have you ever read a book on low carb? You really should read about what you want to do. You might want to get a carb counting book.

The reason I ask is my friend thought it was just eating meat & cheese. So I bought her a book. She has learned alot.

Some people can cheat some can't. I never could. You might have to order things on line. Netrition is wonderful. Take a look at it.

Just my 2 cents.

As mentioned flax is a great key ingredient in a impromptu breakfast. I personally grind flax fresh to make flax meal which is 99% fiber and good fats and then melt muter in and add cinnamon and sweeter and make it in to either a porridge or I prefer adding some cocoa and pretending its cookie dough. the texture is not too bad and with the sweet cookie like taste its easy to polish off a big bowel and it stays with you for hours.

100 seems to be my happy doable point. It allows me to eat a little bit of things I like such as cereal and bread ( and margaritas lol ) but in moderation. If i tried the 20 or less a day I will probably fall off the wagon and eat a pizza

I just tried the Kellogg's protein and it is suprisingly tasty! Seems to be a hint of cinnamon!
