Anyone heard about the "skinny coffee"? I just met someone who was all het up to sell me this coffee that burns fat and doesn't spike your blood sugar. I was intrigued, but it was expensive. Not sure it would be worth it.

JMac--just my opinion, but if drinking coffee would make people thin, would anyone be overweight?

Oh I get you, but this is a brand that is supposed to be sooooper special. I am quite skeptical myself, but this girl had lost 50 pounds and the coffee was her trigger. It's a low-glycemic diet they switch you to, but claim the coffee helps regulate insulin spikes. But it is $99 for a 30-day supply. Yikes!

Coffee is suppsed to be an appetite depressant anyway, though it certainly doesn't wotk that way for me!

Sounds fishy to me. To my knowledge coffee doesn't spike anyone's blood sugar.

I think the low glycemic diet may be the real weight loss trigger, not some special coffee.

I am always amused by the ads that claim you can "Lose 50 pounds Just by taking this pill! and following the enclosed 800 calorie diet."

Eight O'Clock if I want to save some dough.

Otherwise, in-store coffee I go for Starbucks Espresso Roast, Caribou Coffee Caribou Blend, Dunkin Donuts, Peet's Major Dickason's Blend.

I always grind my own coffee beans, and like to blend different beans with each other. I guess you can call me a coffee snob...but I love coffee so much. I also have a Keurig brewer that I love for after-dinner coffee when I only want one cup. And always black. I love the taste of coffee. I think it is the greatest thing in the world.

But my favorite coffee is from a local roastery in Madison, WI called True Coffee Roasters. They give me a 20% discount when I refill my tin there, so you can get a pound of freshly roasted beans for 9 dollars. So good.

Wow, I started drinking coffee at 4, also...never have heard of anyone else that did!!! (Didn't stunt my growth either...5'5"...maybe I would have been 5'10" though!) Also like my coffee w/o sweetener and 1/2 T. of HWC.

If you guys out there love good coffee and don't mind spending a bit, try Starbucks Reserve blends and roasts of coffee. Yes, quite pricey but they are amazing. If you are lucky enough to have a Starbucks near you with a Clover Brewing System (you can find these locations on their website), order one of the Reserve blends brewed on this system. Some of the best cups of coffee I have had. Almost can replace my Americanos or espresso shots when I go there!

But if you put cream and sweetner in your coffee, I wouldn't spend the extra money on this coffee. You want to taste the subtleties in each cup of the Reserve Blend.

I get a fair trade decaf and mix it with whatever my husband buys (usually a bag of beans from Costco).

If you want an indulgence, try the Reserve Blends from Starbucks! I wouldn't recommend buying them regularly, unless you make a lot of money, cause they are very pricey, but definitely worth it!

Oh, I love cardamom...the only things I've used it for are rice pudding and krum kakke (a Norwegian treat).

Know of anything else to put it in?

That sounds good, too! I tried googling your ingredients and lots of entries came up.

You can't really go wrong with Dunkin Donuts, but my fave is Peet's - makes the best iced coffee.

I love New England brand coffee. I like the Chocolate Cappuccino, French Vanilla and Hazelnut Crème. I haven't tried any of their unflavored blends. It's a little pricey at 7.99 for 11 oz., but I wait until my Shoprite has it on sale for 4.99, and then I stock up!

My favorite is Great Value (walmart) The purple can, 100% Columbian tastes like Starbucks breakfast blend to me. I prefer the red can. I've tried a lot of coffees & and coffee makers, For me French press coffee maker is best, I think because water is boiling when it hits the grounds

Now that I'm back in the states, I'm thrilled to see that Walmart carries Gevalia, a Swedish coffee. It's not the best of the Swedish coffees, but Walmart carries it for a great price, and I think it's a lot tastier than Starbucks or SBC.

Earlier in the thread I posted that I drink Folgers. Since then I bought the Trader Joes brand of just plain regular coffee (they have 27 kinds) and I think I like it better.

One thing I really like is the 2lb size can is 2lbs. Not 1 lb 9 ozs like so many companies are doing these days.
