Walden Farms label claims

Hey there-

From time to time, different food products that claim to be low carb or low calorie are exposed to not be what they claim. Discovered by independent lab analysis or by people experiencing blood sugar spikes, or whatever. Have any of you had any experiences that lead you to believe that Walden Farms products are anything other than extremely low carb and low calorie?

Thanks for your thoughts

I have tried some of their products but never liked anything, taste or texture wise. I now firmly believe they are nothing but chemicals and not healthy and threw anything I had left in the trash.

I like their Thick and Spicy BBQ sauce. But it isn't very thick. This is the only one I purchase regularly. As for your question. I haven't had any problems.

I guess I should have added in my original post that I know some people won't touch them, either due to taste issues or the ingredients. To each their own. So for the folks who do/did eat their products.....any issues?

thanks again

I buy the BBQ sauces and like them. I usually add some mustard to mine to make them a bit thicker.Plus, I don`t have to order it. Krogers carry it.

The walden farms products I have tried never spiked my BS.
There's really not anything in the ingredients to cause them to be anything other than low carb and low calorie. All the syrups have filtered water as the first ingredient with flavoring a being the second.

Hope that helps!

I like their pancake syrup but it's the ONLY thing I've tried that I like.

I'm with Gina - not anything particularly out of the ordinary on the ingredients list. I've never read anything about them being other than what the label states re: nutrition. OTOH the serving sizes listed are generally very small, hence the claim of 0 everything, IMHO.

I use the pancake syrup on a rare occasion. I tried the chocolate syrup and bbq sauce and didn't like either one. No problems with blood sugar spikes.

If the BBQ sauce you tried was the original try the Thick and spicy as it is way better

I remember when netrition wouldn't carry their products because they didn't believe their claims, but once I saw they started carrying the line, I figured (hoped) they had them checked out and that the labeling held up.

thanks for all of your input :)

I will say that for me the whipped peanut spread and marshmallow dip were inedible but I know some people like them. The fruit spreads were okay but were kind of gelatin like.

My husband did like one of the barbecue sauces but I'm not a barbecue fan so I never tried it.

I am very skeptical, and I believe them. I also agree they are mostly just appallingly bad. and it's so expensive trying to find if there are any you can tolerate! I have bought a dozen different things over the years and thrown almost all of them out after tasting once and letting them sit in the fridge. Just can't bring myself to eat them a second time.

Actually, their Asian dressing is very good, especially with a couple of drops of sesame oil added in. I really really like it I believe their claims.

I know a lot of their stuff is icky, but there are a few products that I enjoy and I *want* to believe their claims. IT's good to get feedback from you all. I don't think anything other than water is actually zero calorie, but super low cal is good enough for me.

I think it is their best product. I also like their honey mustard salad dressing.

The marshmallow stuff was beyond nasty as was the peanut spread. Their strawbery jam is good though.

I was at Fresh and Easy the other day and noticed they had a little section with Walden Farms products so I thought I give some of them a try.

The chocolate syrup is pretty decent but a little goes a long way. I used some as a "filling" for some fat bombs I made and it was good. I also used some on some home-made low carb ice cream and it was good.

The caramel dip is good but once again very sweet and "less is more." I also used it as a little filling on some fat bombs.

The ranch dressing is a little odd but I only tasted it at room temp.
