I'm back, and in search of...
 
Im in search of the old original Yocheese crew from 2004-until. Also looking for an OLD cheesecake recipe. Ive been searching and searching, AND searching. I know it had options for an almond or flax crust. It did not contain sour cream. It did contain an enormous amount of cream cheese. In the instructions, it stated to turn off oven to cool, then prop oven open and allow to continue to cool. It was also induction friendly (I think), and was used for breakfast ALOT. May have been a Banta recipe?? Or one on FatFast?? Ugh, making me crazy. Any ideas??

I still havent found the cheesecake recipe. It's KILLING me! lol I wont make one until I find the recipe. Im pretty sure it was 6 (maybe 4) boxes of cream cheese, and NO lemon juice. Urgh! Pat, Im going to look now!! I thought all of the old posts were GONE!! Thanks!! However, I may have been wrong about the original crew. I thought we were it, but it was 2004/2005. :( Going to check it out now!! Thanks yall!!

Ginaaaaaa has a cheesecake recipe that is its own thread on here from about 3-30-13. Sorry I can't post a link to it, but I don't know how to link to another thread. The recipe only uses 1/2 cup of sour cream with 4 blocks of cream cheese, and you cool it in the oven with the door closed and the heat turned off. No lemon in it. And it has a pecan crust (but you could probably use different nuts if you wanted). It is really good, especially after 24 hours in the fridge.

I thought it was Beachgirls, but it's not. If LilGrnEyes was still around, she would know :( It doesnt have any sour cream. LOL I went thru 4 thumb drives earlier, looking for the recipe. I am determined to find it!! It wasn't eggy at all, and Id freeze it in slices. Thanks yall, I know somebody MUST have it (I hope).

I just put this one in the oven. It's HUGE & delicious.

New York Style Cheesecake

Use your favorite crust or go crustless.

3 pounds (6 8 oz. packages) cream cheese - room temp
1 1/2 cups sugar (I used 1 cup splenda and 1/2 cup maltitol, use your favorite sweetener blend to equal 1 1/2 cups sugar)
1 cup sour cream
7 eggs
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp lemon zest or 1/2 tsp vanilla

Wrap outside of 9 inch spring form pan with foil.
For crust - butter bottom of pan, press in crust & bake for a few minutes.
I prefer to go crustless so I skip this step.

In a stand mixer in a large bowl mix cream cheese on lowest setting.
Slowly add sugar.
When mixed, add sour cream & mix until just blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly mixed.
Scrape down bowl and add rest of ingredients.
Mix on low until well combined.

Pour into pan.
Bake in a water bath at 325 degrees until the cake is just set & a little wiggly in the middle. Should be 60 - 90 minutes.

Turn off oven, prop open the oven door and let cool to room temp.
Chill in fridge for at least 10 hours, preferably overnight.

**Tips - Don't skip the water bath if you want a creamy texture. Otherwise it will come out dry and crumbly.

Only mix on lowest speed of mixer and don't over mix. This will mix air into the batter and you want to avoid that. It's one of the causes of the top cracking.

Don't worry about the top cracking though, it still tastes great. ;)

ETA: I just noticed the one you are looking for doesn't have sour cream. You don't have to put it in this one. If you leave it out the cake will be dense and heavy and I like it that way too. Actually, I love any cheesecake in any way, shape or form. Yum!

Thanks Doobee, for the thread. Looking now. Now Im trying to remember if it had yocheese in it? I cant believe I cant remember this recipe. I made dozens of these cheesecakes!!
