Glucomannin?

Hey all, where you do get glucomannin powder? And oat fiber?

I would like to try Buttoni's recipe for the dumplings.

I live in Texas (dallas) ... are there any stores that sell it , so I could avoid paying hefty shipping fees?

Thanks!

Here at Netrition. Here's the glucomannan - Konjac Foods Konjac Glucomannan Powder

Also, the blue link in your post, under oat fiber is a link to that, also at Netrition.

Netrition's shipping fees are very reasonable. $4.95 for Any Size order. Not hefty at all.

Thread jack... I can "say" glucomannan" in my mind but my mouth cannot say it.
Didn't realize that until a few days ago a friend showed me a power bar that had gluc in it and when I tried to say it I couldn't. TJ over.

Strawberry, I doubt seriously you'd find a brick-and-mortar store that carries it. I've checked places like HEB Central Markets and Whole Foods to no avail. A health food store might carry it. It's also called Konjac Powder, BTW. I order mine at Netrition also.

I got it in capsules at Vitamin Shoppe. I'm afraid I might be allergic to it, so didn't want a large quantity. Will be trying to bake with it soon.

You can find gluc at health food stores as well as Whole Foods. But you are better off buying it online for a better price. I have PGX sticks - which is supposed to be an appetite suppressant that you add to food and beverages but its really just gluc in individual packets. I got that at Whole Foods. I have never seen oat fiber in a brick and mortar store.

You will probably spend more in gas driving around to find some of the things you see us use here than if you just order from one source and pay the flat rate 4.95 shipping fee. Most stores will mark up the prices on their specialty item to cover their shipping anyway.

good luck.
