Kevins Pecan Pie

Today I made his Pecan pie and all I can say is: This is AWESOME. I had 2 people that had a piece and they said it tastes just like the original.

PS: the crust is a frozen regular high carb crust, which I did eat a bite with it, but the rest I just ate the filling with whip cream in the can. I plan on making Kevins pie crust next week but I didn't want to make 2 new things (crust and pie filling) and not know which tasted bad, if either tasted bad.

Yesterday I received my shipment from Netrition and got my ISOMALT so I could make my mock corn syrup.

I make his pie crust with lard and it IS real pie crust.

This is a real pecan pie. I make 1 for Thanksgiving and 1 for Christmas every year.

I also wanted to add that I use a mix of DaVinci carmel and almond instead of water to make the mock corn syrup.

I will try his pie crust recipe then. Thanks! Now one more question...does the isomalt cause the distress that maltilol does?

It doesn't distress my stomach at all and malitol does really bad. Of course everyone is different, but I know right away if I have too much of certain sugar alcohols.
