Do any of you NOT like DaVinci and Torani syrups?

They just don't taste right to me. I've tried them in cream cheese and coffee and IDK, they taste fake and off to me.

I've tried Vanilla, Pumpkin, Gingerbread and Eggnog.

Am I doing something wrong with them or what?

What about Lorann flavor oils? How are they?

I'm wanting to flavor my coffee and cheesecakes with something and the DaVinci's isn't cutting it.

I am not impressed with the syrups either. I have several and am using them in smoothies just to use them up.
I also have the Lorann oils and have tried them in coffee (caramel, coconut, butterscotch) but they don't taste right to me. I am thinking about getting some
whole coffee beans and using the oils to flavor them. I read about doing this online.
I like flavored coffee and it is expensive to buy.
I do like a drop or two of peppermint oil in chocolate and cocoa.

I've tried a bunch of Lorann's and don't like most of what I've tried.

I think the caramel is pretty good. Grape, bubble gum and banana creme, too.

I don't like cheesecake, cream cheese, maple, peanut butter, choc mint, raspberry, butter vanilla, pumpkin spice.

I was so bummed that the cream cheese ones weren't at all to my liking. I don't eat dairy and was looking forward to getting that cream cheese taste again!

I sprinkle cinnamon on my coffee grinds before pouring water over them to make my coffee. Adds just a hint of yum, and I expect you could use other spices or spice mixes, too, like nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice. I also used to mix slivered almonds in with the coffee beans before grinding them. Made an awesome amaretto-flavored coffee!

So there are some relatively inexpensive ways to flavor your coffee.

Be careful adding cinnamon and/or cocoa - I found out the hard way, it clogged the filter and the water overflowed and ran all over the counter!

I love most of the DaVinci syrups, but I don't use them in coffee as much as I do in baking or things like my cranberry jalapeno sauce, where I use either orange, lime, or raspberry DV syrup. I also like the spice one in my homemade BBQ sauce.

DH used to really love them to make custom sodas - a can of sparkling water and whatever flavors you wanted. He used to do Snickers bar (peanut butter, chocolate, caramel syrups) and a few others. He quit doing that, because he loves his Zevia grape soda even more.

I DO make a Charbucks though - my stepson loves it. Coffee, French vanilla, and half & half.

For some reason the DV syrups don't agree with me. I have all types of tummy issues with them. I tried one Torani - caramel - and hated it.

I do like chocolate, vanilla and caramel SF O'Monin (sold by Netrition) a lot and use it to flavor my coffee. My advice is if you are interested buy one flavor and see what you think. When I tried DV I bought several flavors and had to pitch them all

I like Torani better than davinci but there's a fine line between enough and too much that makes them taste fake.
I find going a little light on the syrup then adding a drop of ez-sweets (if I want it sweeter) produces a better taste than going too heavy on the syrup.

those are some of the more difficult flavors though. try English Toffee.

the Loranns are hit and miss, certainly not better on average than the DaVinci and Torani

I had a few flavors years ago, but never could figure out what to do with them. I'm not a coffee drinker so that was out. I don't drink protein drinks, so that was out. They aren't really syrup, they are more like flavored water. Yuck.

As a matter of fact, I just threw out an unopened huge bottle of DV vanilla. It must have been at least 10 years old. LOL

I use them some for baking and other recipes. I like a lot of the Lorann oils I've tried but they are so concentrated that it's easy to use too much and then you get a chemically off-taste, I use an eye-dropper to measure them out with and most times it only takes a drop or two to get a good flavor.

I love the Lorann apple to add to chayote to use as an apple replacement, the cranberry I use to add a more flavor to fresh cranberries that I dry, I've used the grape, apple and watermelon to make sugar-free Pucker, I like their mint extracts to make buttermints, and I love their bakery emulsions especailly the Buttery Sweet Dough and the Princess Cake, I've bought the Red Velvet but haven't tried it yet.

I'm not real crazy about them either. I do have a bottle of French Vanilla in the pantry that gets rare use. Here's another idea for jazzing up your coffee:

Becky's Place: Thai Coffee
Thai Coffee
4c cold water
4 somewhat heaping Tbsps coffee grounds
1 Celestial Seasonings Chai Tea Sweet Coconut Thai tea bag
Sweetener
Half & Half

Tear open tea bag and pour contents into coffee grounds basket, add grounds, fill water reservoir, then brew. When done add sweetener of your choice and half & half (I tend to be a bit generous and fill my mug about 1/4-1/3 of the way with h&h) to your mug, whatever amount you normally enjoy with your coffee. Pour in your coffee and give a quick stir. Ah, yum yum, enjoy.

*I tried to copy and paste the image from my blog but it wouldn't give me the option to paste it here.

I like Torani better than DaVinci. Monin is the best...thicker and cleaner tasting.

I like some and don't like others. I don't like the chocolate flavored ones and there are some more I didn't care for. I like the cherry, amaretto, strawberry, and mint. I use them for baking, ice cream, and for flavoring coconut milk beverages. I don't use them that often since I don't drink coffee. I need to clean out my cabinet to toss the flavors I don't like.
