Fat Bombs, Where Have You Been All My Life?
 
So, I want to add more CO into my diet because of high blood sugar and studies that CO helps with this. My Netrition order finally arrived today with my Nutiva CO. I decided to try a simple fat bomb recipe I saw on here, thinking I wouldn't like it much and I don't love the taste of coconut. I used:

4 TB CO
4 TB Natural PB
1 TB Salted Butter
1 TB Splenda
Plus, I took one piece of SF chocolate and crumbled it up in the mixture after I had nuked the CO and PB and Butter and stirred in the other ingredients.

I thought it would taste yucky, but it is sooooo good. This stuff has to be addictive. Will have to make sure I don't make too much at one time, because I could definitely overdo it with this.

I actually made mine more like coconut bark, because I haven't had a chance to get silicone molds yet.

yum! I have all of these ingredients right now except regular peanut butter instead of the natural kind. How did you make? I am tempted to try it right now.

My favorite is:

1 1/2c Unsweetened Coconut
1/2c Almond Butter
1c Melted CO
6tbs SFVanilla Syrup
100g LC Chocolate Bar

I pour mine into the bottoms of cupcake papers and chill them. They look like a peanut butter cup.

That's what I do too August! Makes me feel like i'm cheating Lol. One thing I learned the hard was is not to eat to much cc oil in one day cause it can cause intestional issues.
Last time I made the bombs I used almond butter and cc oil. Soo Yum!!

I didn't care for the CO bark made with cocoa but this sounds great. Can't wait to try it!

I heard about them yesterday and made.some last night. They are good! I got mini cupcake cups and.put them in that. I left the chocolate off but put a little on a few this.morning and they are chilling now. These are good with a big glass.of.water to help between meal hunger.

Yes, I made my first batch last week and I am LOVING them!

I've also found that every day I eat one, I lose. Coincidence??!? Haha I don't know but I am going to keep it up! I have one for breakfast with coffee and cream. Keeps me full for hours!

I made them just now with this recipe:
4Tb unsalted butter
1/2C plain almond butter
1/2C coconut oil
4 tsp erythritol
4 drops splenda
1/16 tsp salt
1 tsp cocoa powder
Nuts or other toppings, mix-ins (optional)

Nuke 1 minute, with stirring. Pour into 12 paper muffin paper baking cups.
but there's something not quite right. I think I need more salt.

I just made my first batch last night using Coconut oil, almond butter, butter, and splenda. I chopped up part of an 85% lindt dark chocolate bar and a few peanuts and tossed those in and took the line the cupcake pans suggestion. It was amazing. After all of the warnings about stomach issues I only had one and put the rest in the freezer. I am going to try coconut butter the next time and see how that is compared to the coconut oil. It has a little bit of an oilyness to it and I am hoping that helps with that.

I made mine with coconut oil but I used 2 tbs of cocoa poweder and I think that really soaked the oil up. I also keep them in the freezer. They are not oily at all!

Thanks for the tip!!! I have some really great dutch processed cocoa powder maybe I will try that next time and see how I like it instead of chopped up chocolate.

Here is the recipe I used. I was very happy with them!

Wow - I made some tonight. Used salted butter and added some cayenne pepper for a little kick. SO GOOD!

I used 5 tbs peanut butter, 2 tbs cocoa, a few tablespoons of cream, grassfed butter stick and 1/2 cup of coconut oil. I made 21 so by my count they are less than 1 carb each!

Sorry, just saw this. I put the CO, butter and PB into a bowl and nuked for about 45 seconds. Then, I stirred in Splenda. I poured onto wax paper that I had placed in a small pan and crumbled the chocolate on top. I popped in the freezer for about 30 minutes and then broke into pieces about 2-inches by 2-inches for "bark". I put in baggie and stored in freezer. Had two more today. Yum. So good and filling.

That sounds good, too. I didn't have any coconut on hand. I want to add that in next time.

Hi Cindy Lou,

It is Coconut Oil (CO). Make sure you use the extra virgin kind that is cold processed for best taste, texture and health benefits. I have been doing a ton of reading about CO and it is really good for us. I bought Nutiva brand, but there are others out there.

I just put these (original posted recipe) in the frig to cool. The only change I made was to use almond butter instead of peanut butter. I really don't care for the almond butter but have a jar I need to use. After I nuked it I poured the mixture into mini muffin liners and got 15. I can't wait to try them. :D

I can't get these right just like I could never get the coconut bark right. Mine always come out too bitter. For this batch I used 4tb regular peanut butter, 4tb nutiva coconut oil, 1tb salted butter and 3 drops of liquid stevia.

I used:
1/2 c. almond butter
1/2 c. salted butter
1/2 c. coconut oil

Chilled them- 2 Tbs each in mini muffin cups. I sprinkled a little of my home made "muesli" I sprinkle on my yogurt in each one: sliced almonds, chopped pecans and walnuts, and unsweetened coconut flakes. Yummy!!

Widget posted these on another thread and they're (it's) great. Notice it's One recipe, although I can't eat this much at once. I made it and put into a mini silicone cupcake pan and just pop one or 2 out. I do that also with the CO/peanut butter/cocoa powder ones also. I just keep in the refrigerator.

So lemony and yummy.

Lemon Fat Bomb

1 ounce cream cheese, room temp.
2 Tablespoons butter, room temp.
2 Tablespoons coconut oil
1 Tablespoon sour cream
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon lemon extract
sweetener to taste

Stir together the cream cheese and butter. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until smooth. Refrigerate until it stiffens up. If you are the impatient type, freeze for 20 minutes before eating.

Fat = 63.13 g
Protein = 2.84 g
Total Carbs = 1.58 g

What kind of almond butter are you using? I got some in a jar by the peanut butter and it isn't good at all. I made fat bombs with it and it was just :sick:

Could I use peanut butter instead?

I think this the simplest recipe I've seen so far:)
