Is There A Coffee Flavored Protein Powder Out There?

Hi All,

I did a forum search to try to get an idea of the most well-liked protein powder around these parts and it seems like Jay Robb is very popular. Unfortunately there is no coffee flavor I've been looking for a coffee flavored protein powder for a little while and I haven't seen any around. Does anyone know of one that is of good quality?

Also, I've never tried the "flavorless" protein powders, are they truly flavorless or do they still have a taste?

Thanks!

You could just use coffee for the liquid or whirl up water (or whatever liquid you use) and coffee granules first, then add in the protein powder.

I'm was hoping for just plain coffee flavor though, not chocolate coffee or vanilla coffee. Also, if I have to wait for my hot coffee to get ice cold I'll be up at 4am to brew a pot! I wonder if I could make instant coffee in cold water, does it still dissolve properly? Hmmmm...

Thanks for the suggestion!

I always just make extra and put it in a container in the refrigerator once it's cooled off. Then I have some any time I want.

ON makes one. I know a lot of people that like this brand.

Jay Robb is out of my price range so that's out for me.

I like to add a Starbucks Via Italian Roast packet to vanilla whey protein powder.

You can make instant coffee concentrate by putting the coffee powder in your cup, then add about 2 tablespoons of hot water, stir til dissolved - now you can add your cold liquids/protein powder and it will be a nice cold drink. If you want to really speed up the process, once the coffee is dissolved in the hot water, add an ice cube to it BEFORE adding any additional liquids and let it dissolve to cool off the concentrate.

I do this all the time. I already have about 6 flavors of protein powder and I sure don't need another container taking up space!

yeah, why not use instant coffee, either regular or decaf? DaVinci also has a Kahlua flavored sugar free syrup that's good.

the unflavored whey is pretty neutral. I never eat it plain with a spoon, mind you, but I have never noticed it contributing a flavor.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions!

Has anyone ever had Optimum Nutrition, Syntrax or Big Train protein mixes that can give me a thumbs up or thumbs down on quality, taste, mixability, etc.?

Tesee, if you go to the Netrition product pages (in the links I provided above) and scroll down to the Customer Reviews, you can see what customers have to say about them.

Here's the Syntrax Nectar link.

My husband likes Optimum Nutrition... we have done the chocolate, french vanilla and cake batter flavors so far.

We keep a pitcher of iced coffee in the fridge at all times, and he takes the coffee, protein powder, and a bit of heavy cream and splenda and makes a coffee flavored protein shake. He really likes the cake batter flavor with the coffee and then the vanilla.

Yup, just found it, Syntrax Nectar Whey Protein Isolate Powder Cappuccino or just add instant coffee granules to unflavored (or flavored) powder. I see Netrition sells the Syntrax Cappuccino.
