You can't - they quit making it, unfortunately!

BUT you CAN buy the regular Diabetisweet (or erythritol) and add about a teaspoon of blackstrap molasses to a couple cups of the sweetener, then stir to thoroughly blend it in - makes a dandy substitute.

I still have a few bags of Diabetisweet brown sugar sub from when we found out they were going to stop making it. It's been in my freezer.

You can buy Just Like Sugar Just Like Brown Sugar Sub on netrition. You can also search "low carb foods" or go to Linda Sue's site and click on the banner at the top, and I believe they also have a brown sugar sub.

Hi dlk35,

I've been using Steel's Gourmet Foods Nature Sweet Brown Crystals (available on-line). I use it cup-for-cup like brown sugar for baking and have found it quite satisfactory. Ingredients: Maltitol 0 carb sweetener (sugar alcohol), Natural Flavorings. Diabetisweet uses Isomalt 0 carb sweetener (sugar alcohol)/AceK, you must add flavoring.

Hope this helps... locarbman ;-)

I second the Steel's Gourmet Brown Sugar - I made some yummy mint chocolate chip and toasted pecan cookies yesterday using it.

My mom who lived with us died last year at 96. I sure do miss her.

Julie - sorry for the late answer, it's been a few days since I've been here.
The cookies are basically the old Crisco Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie just low-carbed. Here's what I used:

3/4 cup butter crisco
1 1/4 cups Steele's Brown Sugar Substitute
2 Tb. half & half
1 Tb. vanilla
1 tsp. mint extract
1 egg
1 3/4 cup Kevin's bake mix (can use almond flour)
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar-free chocolate chips
1 cup toasted pecan pieces

Toast the pecans and set aside. Heat oven to 375.

Cream the crisco, sugar, half&half and extracts in large bowl. Blend well then add the egg. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by tablespoons onto greased or parchment lined cookie sheet. (I used a small ice cream scoop for uniform size cookies) Bake 8 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies. Don't overbake. I got almost 3 dozen cookies (34 to be exact!)

Let cool 2-3 mins. on baking sheet then transfer to rack to cool. Be sure to eat one while they're still warm -- yum!!

If you can afford the carbs you can use the mint chocolate chips that are available this time of year.
