LOL! Thanks! This took me by surprise when it caught my eye. <g>

It was a great birthday, complete with a lowcarb cake and frosting, so that was very nice. And my son gave me the 5 book set of Jennifer's Splendid Lowcarbing cookbooks, so I'm gonna be a cooking fool pretty soon. My best friend gave me a ham, bless her forever and ever... I know it sounds like a goofy birthday gift, but we had been talking on the phone yesterday and I mentioned that I've been craving ham like crazy. Last night, she showed up at the door with an orchid plant in a pretty pot, and a spiral cut ham so I could have baked ham! Guess what's in the oven right now, for supper tonight? LOL

You just hafta love a friend who'll give you meat for a present, don't you?

Kiss her on both cheeks. She's a keeper.

Happy ham. It is a very versatile meat.

Wow, Lene, that is an amazing friend!! No doubt you are that kind of friend as well. You have an even nicer son - I'm just a tad biased re the presents. Thanks so much!

Heh. Yep, she's a pretty good friend -- and tonight, hubby and son are thanking her profusely, because we ate the most wonderful juicy ham for supper. LOL

Danny's a great guy, I feel really lucky to have him in my life. He makes me coffee whenever he is out in the kitchen making himself something, always asks if I want anything, helps me with the dishes, etc... A good kid (although I guess I ought not to call him a kid, he's 26 now and tall as a house, with a big full beard. LOL) He's very pleased with himself for getting the books, Jennifer, because he sees how much I'm enjoying them, and he was so happy to have gotten something "just right". <g>

Yeah, me too! <g

He's currently in the kitchen doing up the dishes from this morning, and then is going to make a percolator of coffee. I took a fall today because my legs have been wobbly lately, and even though I don't think I'm really even bruised (except my dignity, of which I have little enough, anyway) he decided I should sit on my rear while he washes the dishes. I could have argued the issue, but didn't. LOL I'll be happy enough to have the dishes all done up before I go out there later to cook supper, I'm sure. Not sure what it will be, but I'm pretty sure it will use leftover ham!
