Just wanted to remind anyone who plans on making the donut recipe I posted to make sure you don't leave out the butter. I made some more and forgot to add it in and they didn't come out as tender for me. I also rolled them into balls and then put them into the donut maker so that could be another reason they were slightly tough. They still taste really amazing, but I liked how the other ones were lighter and fluffier.

Also, be sure and add the sweetener and some flavorings, like vanilla, coconut or whatever flavors you like. My favorite is vanilla and coconut flavoring coated with toasted coconut. I also add the liquid left over from soaking the unsweetened coconut. That gives it more flavor and sweetness.

Gina--you bring up an interesting point. The combo of some form of fat with this flour seems to make a really tender crumb with a crispy crust. I noticed it when I made cookies and again with the waffles. Your cake balls are no doubt another instance--I love all the experimenting!! By the way, I fully intend to buy a cakeball maker this weekend--

I guess it was a good thing I forgot the butter! Lol

I still need to try your cookie recipe. I hope you like the donuts, I'm going to get some more flavor drops, I might get sick of the coconut donuts lol I really liked the apple cinnamon ones, next time I'm going to use the apple pie flavor drops in them and maybe just leave the apples out.

I'm think I'm going to try the blueberry and chocolate glazed donut flavor drops next.

One more thing about the donuts and I promise I will stop lol I will probably just use the granular xylitol or erythritol for coating the donuts because the powdered seem to soak into the donuts. When I used the granular mixed with cinnamon on the apple cinnamon donuts it worked better.

This make a gorgeous pie shell. The crust with the butter is so flaky and loveely.
That cherry pie was my favorite high carb love. Now it tasted like great cherry pie. Yummy. I can see a real chicken pot pie in my future.

It's amazing what we can do with this mix.

What size pie crust does this make? I've been wanting to find a really good low-carb pie crust recipe.

This is the recipe I used. I made small pies so I'm not sure how much would make a regular sized pie, but I'm thinking maybe a cup of mix would probably work.

The donut recipe that I copied down from you is from post #517 and I didn't see any butter included in it. Can you tell us how much butter and is it melted, etc.?

From your earlier post:
For the donut part this is what I used

1 cup flour mix
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup erythritol
15 drops Splenda liquid
1 tsp vanilla
15 drops coconut Capella drops

Pam I only made 1 because I have these little pie pans. 4". They are so cute.

This pic is the dough mixed up into a ball. I used the recipe in post #293 but i only used 1 Tablespoon of water. The butter was also different. I use soft butter and mix it wth my fingers, then add the water to form dough.ouizoids 002.jpg

This pic is rolled out dough with 2 peices of plastic wrap. It measures
5x8 inches. !/2 for bottom & 1/2 for top. Use the wrap to pick up the dough to put in pie pan. It's also very fragile when raw.We don't wannt to handle it too much.

ouizoids 004.jpg

This pic is when I put the top on. I will put a pic up when it's done cooking. I will be making 4 of these and I will multiply the recipe time 4.
I want to freeze them.

ouizoids 007.jpg

Doing it like this we will have OUR chicken pot pie.LOL

Esther! You have me so excited!

you guys--look at what we are working with here! Danish, donuts, pie, pizza, cakepops, waffles, potpies, cookies. All the things we have missed so much! We need to make a list of all the things we have been deprived of!

You guys are killing me. Rose's pie looks perfect and I can't wait to try one myself. Thanks for the detailed instructions and pictures.

I've got some of those zipper bags that you use to roll out pie crust, I've got two different sizes. I really want to make at least a 9 or 10 inch crust to use for a glucomannan lemon meringue pie I've been mulling over.

Pancakes, too!

I made a big batch of the mix. These pancakes were made from a tripled mix batch, though I'm highly suspicious I miscalculated something (likely the coconut flour) as the mix is requiring more than the 50:50 liquid to mix ratio my single batch needed for good results). I used 1 beaten jumbo egg, 1 c. mix, 1/4 c. cream and about 1 c. water for my liquid. They came out fantastic! Very fluffy and cake-y and a GREAT taste! My DH said he like them best of ALL the pancakes I've done to date. He really knows how to hurt a girl's feelings, huh? And here I thought all my previous ones were really good. But I'm very please with what we can do with this mix, Ouiz. Here's a pic of the pancakes this morning:

I've made biscuits with your mix 4 times now. I make a batch of 6. I'm in love with them. My cake pop pan is on the way and I am definitely making some sort of pie! The "Cheese Round" thread answered my prayer for a reliable, easy to make pizza crust (and other applications). The only thing left on my wish list is a reliable sandwich bread. Once I've found it, my LC GF dreams will have come truuuuuuue. I'm sure this mix is the key!
