Thanks MsWoods, I guess I won't bother blanching it anymore then.

The chili recipe thread that was just bumped gave me a great idea for the rice too. We always had rice with our chili so I think I will be making some chili to have with the miracle rice real soon. Yummy!!

Lol. Done it! I made tofu turkey chili and put it over miracle rice. Delish. Add a little cheese and onion for toppers.

Has anyone tried using the rice as orzo in a salad?

I'm going to try the fried rice with shrimp tonight. Hope I like it more than the noodles.

Thanks for recipes.

Miracle Rice Pudding

Hubs and I are fighting over the last one.
So we had to divide it. I made 5 instead of 6.

Gosh I am so happy that you all turned me onto this product.
Never having been delirous about the noodles (I use 'em).
These we love. 3 bags for fried rice and 1 bag for pudding.

There is a warning at Netrition that people either love these
Miracle Rice or hate them. Warning not to buy a case until
you have tried them. Well now I want a large truck full.

Miracle Rice in Soup

I made Spinach Eggflower Soup tonight and after rinsing
and using the lemon. I poached the 'rice' for about 5-8 minutes.
Drained and then put it in the soup. The poaching softened the
'rice'. Gosh we love this product. Tomorrow a big double
batch of 'rice pudding' going to give it to guests.
See what they think it is.

my current fave office lunch--so easy! one bag rinsed and drained rice, one wedge lite peppercorn cheese (25), one bag wild salmon (70), salt and pepper--a little kale or spinach if you like. so good and so filling for less than 100 cals.

I'm not sure which recipe you are talking about, I just don't have the time to go back and look, but my recipe is basically:

1C Almond Milk (unsweet)
1/4 cup SF syrup
1 bag rinsed miracle rice
1/2 tbsp glucc powder.

Actually I lied Lol. Thanks for asking a ? Miller. I use 1/2 bag in each serving. So I make like 4 servings at a time and keep them in the fridge (2 bags rice). Sometimes I eat it cold, a lot of times I heat it up in the micro and add more syrup. It's so good.

MsWoods, then the only change to your recipe is that you use 2 bags of rice, not one? Everything else is the same?
Or is everything else doubled too?

pls/thx

Just the rice. I divide the bags up to stretch it a bit, it's plenty with 1 cup of almond milk.

Tilly

To answer your question....here is the recipe that I use.
I have a picture on my board

SPINACH EGG DROP SOUP
6 cups chicken broth, homemade preferred
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1/3 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. Vietnamese Hot Sauce
1-2 tsp. sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon granular Splenda (OPTIONAL)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 green onions, chopped
1 Bag Miracle Rice, rinsed
2 cups fresh *baby spinach, lightly packed, 3 ounces
Place in soup bowls.

Bring the broth, soy sauce oil,hot sauce and Splenda to a boil in a large pot.
Add Miracle rice and reduce to a simmer.
Slowly stir in egg. Remove from the heat; let stand 1 minute. Stir in the green onions.
Place spinach in the bottom of 4 soup bowls. Ladle the hot soup over the *spinach to serve.
Makes about 6 cups or 4 servings

I ordered some Saturday on Amazon and got them Monday! Was too tired and lazy to try them last night but will be making some pork fried rice tonight! I have everything but the fresh ginger. I can't wait to try it.

1 bag of Miracle Rice. Rinsed and dried
1-2 oz of cream cheese
Crumbled bacon however much you want

Heat and eat

I'm in love with the fried rice! Miracle Rice is great. I added a touch of cabbage and celery cuz I had them in the fridge. I'm so glad I ordered 6 bags. I'm thinking I should go ahead and order some more.

Does everybody dry the miracle rice in a hot skillet first? I can't wait to try other recipes! Thanks for this thread.

I don't always dry it in a skillet first, when Im at work I just rinse it, but I do enjoy it more when I can dry it out.

I have a local store I can get it at now and I just went in and bought them out again. I think I got 15 bags. I get anxiety when I get low That should last me about a week.

I buy it at Drug Emporium, but I know United Supermarket also has it. It varies by store though because only one of our United's have it.
