Chia Powder?

This is here on netrition, its supposedly ground up sprouted seeds. Sprouted is supposed to be better for you somehow. and it says you can use it like flour in baking.

Its still all fiber. I have not even tried the regular chia seeds.

Has anyone used both?

Interesting! My order list just increased, I think! I'd be willing to try the flour.

I've loved using the chia seed (gel) as an extender for salad dressings and for things like cream cheese fillings for celery sticks. I've also made the tapicoa pudding and added the gel into muffins, but still haven't experimented with just adding the raw seed directly into recipes. I would like to try this with hamburgers or meatloaf, hoping to keep in juiciness and flavor.

Thanks for the posting!

there is a gel too? I only see the seed and the flour. Is the gel something you make from the seed?

Yes, you add chia to water and let it set up. About 1/2 C of chia seed to 2 cups of water.

I use Larry's mixture: 1/3c seeds to 2c water for the gel. Shake every 15 minutes for one hour. Then put in the fridge.

Well, I could have sworn he said 1/2 cup (which is why I said that). Sorry if I got it wrong! (Though if you have already made it up and it's too thick....add water!

no worries! I may have it wrong! I just use the 1/3 c and not knowing any better, it seems thick enough for me.
