I tried it way back when it first came out and it was awful lol. Tasted like rotten fruit to me.

Never tried pure Luo Han but Low Carb Foods Corp Sweeteners are fast becoming my favorite sweetener. Its a mix of Luo Han, Stevia,Sucralose and Fibers. Lakanto has good reviews on Netrition and its a mix of Luo Han and Erythritol. Whenever I come across Luo Han sweetener, it seems like the ones that are mixed with other sweeteners get the best reviews. Pure Luo Han seems to be hit or miss. From what I've read, Lo Han probably works better in things like tea, coffee or anything that you would use brown sugar. So you can't really use it as an all purpose sweetener. Unless you like the brown sugar/maply/molasses type flavor in everything. Also from reviews I've read about pure lo han, its not incredibly sweet on its own, which is why it might be better to mix it with another sweetener.

I've tried it, it's delicious. Would be good in coffee but it's expensive so using it in making pastries or cakes would not be practical. I don't remember the brand I got, but it was pure lo han, nothing mixed with it. I found it on ebay. It came in a small jar, like a spice jar size for about $4.00.

I tried it. Got it at a health food store about 2 years ago. It was lo han and stevia mixed. Very sweet.
I could get 2 cups of tea from 1 pkt. and I like things really sweet.
I didn't notice a maple flavor like some have.

Love LoHan and use it all the time. For me, it has a wonderfully clean, sweet taste and the brand I use is SlimSweet by Trimedica. A little goes a long way and is fairly reasonably priced.

I have been afraid to buy slimsweet because from what I've read, it contains Fructose. Its a mix of Levulose & Lo han. From what I've read, Levulose is Fructose.

Do you mind sharing the brand? I guess the taste might vary from one brand to the next. I've never had pure Lo han so just going off what I've read online. I love the sweetener I have that has Lo Han as part of the mix but would love to try a good brand of Pure Lo Han.

In this instance, I am certain that the concentrated fruit contains a good amount, especially with the levulose added, but you have to pick your battles when it comes to non-chemical sweeteners. And if you're only using a teeny bit, I just wouldn't worry too much about it...but that's up to you :-)

There are many brands, SlimSweet is one, XyloSweet is another and there used to be a product called Sweet n' Slender, but I'm not sure that one is still in production. Any major health food retailer should carry it.

I thought XyloSweet was pure Xylitol.
