Old post but hoping someone can help!

My sweetener is 0.5g carbs per teaspoon, is that average? (I'm new to LC)
Would with recipe work without the liquid smoke flavoring?

Thanks!

I love bbq sauce. If you like a little molasses flavor in yours, I've found that reducing 24 oz of diet cola to about 3 oz is a reasonable imitation.

Auroroa, what sweetener are you using? The answer really depends on that. For instance, sugar alcohols have different glycemic loads. Erythritol is 0, so I don't count those carbs at all. Maltitol is almost as high as sugar. I count Maltitol as half of the posted carbs.
I like to use mostly 0 carb sweeteners. That includes pure stevia, sucralose liquid, and erythritol as I explained above. Many sweeteners are cut with things that I prefer to avoid if I can. Splenda has maltodextrin and is actually 24 carbs per cup. If you get the pure sucralose liquid, you get 0 carbs and no unnecessary ingredients.

I agree here with Soobee about the sweeterners. Also, the liquid smoke really does make a big difference in the taste. It's worth finding and using, if you can.

Thanks soobee and beeb!

I'll look out for the flavoring, I'm in the UK and haven't seen it anywhere yet.

The sweetner says Sucralose based so I'll go ahead and keep with that one?

Thanks again!
