omg, cream cheese clouds
I made these over the weekend and omg, they are good. I used less sugar than recommended and still found them sweet and heavenly. is there anything wrong with eating them and how much is too much. i had three of them for breakfast with a cheese string, hoping that that is ok.

I just followed the directions. 8oz of cream cheese, 1 stick of butter, 1/4 cup of granulated equal and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. mixed well and lined the sheet with wax paper and popped them in the freezer for about 2-3 hours and thats it. It was like eating a frozen cheesecake. sooo good.

How many does this make? I box of cream cheese has 750 calories and 16.7 grams of carbs. I guess it depends on what plan your doing, or if cheese will stall you. I wouldn't be able to get away with a whole box of cream cheese for breakfast.

and your recipe made 24 of them, then in my opinion, 3 of those + a string cheese is probably a perfectly fine breakfast!!!

Myself, I'd only have the 3 clouds (and now I think I'm going to try them, lol!!!). Hopefully I tolerate the cream cheese, but it is only a single ounce for that portion, so it should be ok for me too.

the recipe said that it can make 24 drops. I made like 30 drops with mine. I could never eat a whole box of cream cheese in one sitting. the clouds are probably maybe 1 tbs each.

Okay, I didn't know how much the recipe would make. I don't think having 3 of them for breakfast would be a problem.

I cut the recipe in half and make about 16. Each one is 52 cals, .29 g of carbs and 5.4 g of fat. A great way to increase fat without too many cals.

Oh they sound yummy! I haven't been eating cream cheese lately. No reason just not. So I should try these! They sound like a dessert to me.

Yeah, it was the stick of butter that I didn't like. It made them taste greasy and oily to me. Then I tried them with my beloved coconut oil and they were even worse, lol. It's funny because I love cream cheese muffins and adore lc cheesecake.

I think you might me making them wrong knittering... well probably not- but your results are strange- don't know what it could be. They shouldn't be at all greasy or oily tasting. The butter shouldn't be melted at all. I don't even taste the butter in mine.

So, do you use right out of the fridge cc and butter, or room temp. And do you mix them with a mixer or by hand. Guess I could have looked at the recipe...it probably answers my questions. They sound delish, and I'm starting a new full time job on Thursday, and need something I can grab and take with me for breakfast/break. It's hard for me to eat really early in the mornings.

I just leave my butter and cc out to soften. You shouldn't melt either of them. Mine are not greasy and I can't taste or feel the butter either.

Wonder how these would work out with no butter? Frozen, sweetened cream cheese I suppose? Not sure if that would be a good thing or a bad thing.:confused:

I had no desire to ever make clouds ever, but when I saw the mint choco chip, I just HAD to try. Oh my....they are insanely good!! Made them for the first time a couple weeks ago and I was seriously addicted. I ate the entire batch in 2 days! :blush: Then made ANOTHER batch immediately. I did drop 3pounds that week but I've been too scared to weigh since.

I used 1/3 cup granular splenda and a couple squirts stevia.

i dont know. I actually just followed the recipe. the only thing i changed was the size to yeild 30 instead of the 24. no biggie. and no oily butter taste. tasted just like a frozen cheese cake, seriously. i am not big on sweets, but I can just pop 2-3 and call it a day, for some strange reason, they are very filling.

Yeah- just get butter and cream cheese at room temp.

I use liquid splenda so it cuts the carb count.

I think without butter it would seriously alter the texture. It kind of has a melt in the mouth kind of thing going. I also think it helps stabilise the cream cheese. I'm not sure if just frozen cream cheese would be nice. Maybe try another fat- coconut oil? Or something else that is still soft but solid at room temp.

They could be a morning snack- but they need to stay frozen. My DH had one and forgot about it for about 20minutes- and it went straight back to warm butter/cream cheese consistency- not really a portable snack unless you are eating right away- or have use of a freezer at work.

How much cocoa Paul?! Any thoughts on that? I was going to wait to get mint extract and sf choco chips ... but why wait?! lol! I have everything else on hand!

I made MSWoods Not Cake last night for brekkie this morning (with the addition of 2T of Byrd Mill Peanut Flour) and did not really like it too much (used Cytosport whey protein) ... so I'd like to try clouds after the rave reviews, lol!

I did not enjoy the cocoa ones. I think you have to play around with different AS for them to counter the bitter cocoa. I think my liquid sweetener tasted bitter with the cocoa- I could tasted the AS, where normally I just taste the sweetness. But this will definitely me a YMMV situation. I halved the recipe and used 1 tsp of cocoa- but I think just add to your taste preference.
