second try ...

Ok, I made these last night with UNSALTED BUTTER and they turned out awesome! I added a 15 drops of Loran's Raspberry Oil and they taste like little raspberry cheesecake bites! Very much melt-in-your-mouth goodness! I made them small and got 32 clouds.

Thanks for posting this. I would never have tried them otherwise. I learned my lesson with using regular butter (in the trash they went) but round #2 turned out great.

These will make a great hunger-killing snack thanks to the high fat content!

Made half the batch w/ a capful of sugar free davinci's vanilla....and half the batch w/ 2 tbs cocoa powder each are soooo gooood! I like bittersweet chocolate and thats how they taste. made them w/ 16 drops of ez sweetz for the whole batch, and they are sweet enough. Thanks for this great recipe delicious.

I have also made clouds with chocolate DaVinci's and they taste like milkshakes that have been frozen. The French vanilla ones were heaven also. I add 3/4 to 1 cup DaVincis instead of the splenda. I just got Creme de menthe and can't wait to make those.

I get 15 clouds from each recipe and count them as two of Linda's Sues for calorie and fat purposes (on *********)
just to make sure I get this correct,,,you use no splenda at all and use sf syrup???? that would be great, would cut down carb count even more....

Well I just made my first batch and I'm excited to try them later. For half of the batch I microwaved about 10 frozen raspberries and mixed them in. Just licking the spoon I really liked it. I'll report back later with a final verdict!

I was thinking for a special treat it would be fun to melt some sf chocolate and dip these and refreeze before eating.

No Splenda. Just Davincis. It makes them a little more liquidy to start with but they freeze up solid.

I made some today using True Orange for flavoring, plus a little orange extract. Yum!! I'd think you could do the same thing with True Lemon or True Lime.

I made the mint chocolate chip clouds and used coconut bark --

choco coconut crinkles:

2T coconut oil
2 t powdered cocoa
5 drops liquid splenda

mix well. Cover a lid or baking pan with plastic wrap. Pour the mixture on fairly thin and put in freezer to freeze. Once frozen, take out and break up into "chips"

Fold into the cloud recipe quickly and get the clouds into the freezer -- not sure the clouds will keep their "chips" in the fridge.

All that said ... here is another recipe I made that I am not all that crazy about First MsWoods NotCake and now Cream Cheese Clouds (I did like the coconut choco chips in it though) So, it's me!!! lol!! Everyone else likes these things, lol!!! Again, I will finish eating the rest of the batch over the next few days ....

I hope these don't make me gain weight like the paula deen peanut butter cookies are doing, those peanut butter cookies are good but addictive!!!!! Do these clouds stall anyone or take anyone out of induction?

I can't lose eating stuff like this. Those peanut butter cookies (which have been around long before Paula Dean somehow made claim to them ) and these cc clouds are loaded with calories so you really have to watch them. I can easily eat the whole recipe in a day or two and that's a whole lot of calories.

My body hates cream cheese for some reason so yeah, these don't work for weight loss for me but are a great maintenance treat especially in the summer. I think you just have to try it and see how your body does with it.

well if you stall with cream cheese, or sour cream then they might make you stall- but like with every thing you have to eat them in moderation. You should still stick to your daily allowance of cheese/cream.

I have been eating them since the second week and I am losing just fine. I eat probably two servings of them a day and have never had an issue.

So, has anyone TRIED to either cut out the butter/coconut oil or even just reduce the amount, like by half, in this recipe?

I would love to try this but the calorie count is stopping me.

Thanks

No. Cutting the butter doesn't really help in that the calories per cloud are still the same. You just get fewer clouds. You would need to substitute a lower fat butter/oil and I don't really know of anything that would work.

What does work is using low fat (gasp!) cream cheese. I can't tell a difference and you save a good bit on the calories although carbs may go up a tiny bit depending on the brand you use. (And before heads start to explode at the mere sight of the words low fat, low fat cream cheese is still a high fat food. Just not as high fat as full fat. )

ummm a portion which is very small btw (3 "clouds" like 3 T, or less, lol! Basically 1/8th of the recipe) comes out to like ~200 calories which for me is a normal snack size - not outrageous calories. For comparison sake, a "regular" flax minute muffin is something like 300-350 calories.

Cream cheese does stall some tho ...

I agree- mine are only 52 cals per cloud. I usually only have 2 at a time- which is a 100 cal snack. Which I think is fine.

Everyone should do what works best for them. If I could be happy with two tiny clouds then yeah, all would be well. Using lower fat cream cheese I can have three for the price of two made with regular. I'm sticking with my low fat cream cheese so I can eat more! Hey I like to eat!!

Me, too! I am going to try your low fat cream cheese method and see if I can't even cut out some of the butter. Calories matter to me ( wish they didn't) so every little bits helps!

I wonder how it would be to freeze blobs of the whipped low fat cream cheese that they sell in tubs? Hmmm. I might run to the store and get some and try that. I wonder if stirring in some sweetener will ruin the "whippy-ness" of it though? Ugh. I swore I was off these things for a few days but I might have to take one for the team here and give it a try, lol.

gross!! i just made these and had one about an hour ago - i can still taste the gross aftertaste. BUT i used truvia as i am giving up splenda for a while to see if i am reacting to it and i'm not used to it. i kept tasting for sweetness and never got there - i added four packs - one 8 oz cream cheese and approx equal amount of whipped to butter cream and some vanilla.

p. u.

think it's the truvia?

barbinga ... dunno about the truvia, but I made mine with splenda and am not crazy about the cream cheese taste in them, lol!! even though I like the "fattiness." My tastebuds have been letting me down lately
