Lauren's Payday bars..

Has anyone had luck making the caramel sauce in this recipe?? I can make excellent homemade caramel sauce with real sugar but no luck with this method..what could I be doing wrong?

After three attempts to make it and end up with a hardened mass of sweetness, I am dumbfounded..

The first time I did exactly as she said, no luck..the second time I tried adding some Truvia to the Erythritol, and the third time I reduced the heat?? Mine never got to the dark amber color hers did, and it took at least 20 mins or more before I got to ANY color..temp was on medium.. dried so hard I couldn't get it out of the dish..
